Hes a decent 1B on a bad team that already has a 1B in Dunn and a billion OF. The Mets are desperate, but I am sure the Nats aren’t dying to keep him either.

True, it just depends on what we would have to give. Dilon Gee? Sure. Niese? Maybe????

THe Nationals FO is a complete joke. Their GM was fired/quit before the season even started! They buffed up their outfield with 6 starting OFs! IMO, the gNats would be highly aggressive in what theyre getting back for NJ. Wouldnt cost FMart, but maybe a comb. of Niese and maybe W. Flores?

I can’t see it costing Flores for sure. He does not really have that much value to anyone but us right now.

Do you think Niese would get it done?

Love his bat and his line drives and his approach. If we got him and he got hurt, which is as strong a possibility as anything, I think I would have a nervous breakdown lol
But if he Omar did pull the trigger and he got hurt I wouldnt blam Omar for trying on this one. If somehow we didnt have to give much up for Nick and still had the ability with our prospects to land a big bat that would be nice. I really think Omar is going to make moves though. 2006 was 3 years ago. Omar knows not making the post season isnt an option this year.

I actually think you may be right.
According to the post the RSox did not want to give up Clay for him. Well Duh.
According to Yahoo sports
“Clay Buchholz has tossed 21 1/3 scoreless innings for Class AAA Pawtucket (R.I.) and has not allowed a run during the entire month of May. In total, the 24-year-old pitching phenom is 2-0 with a 1.03 ERA in six starts with 35 innings pitched and 37 strikeouts for the season. Buchholz is pushing for another call-up to Boston to crack the Sox starting rotation, and has also been mentioned in recent trade rumors involving Boston’s potential search for a slugger. ”
They are not moving that for a half of a season of Nick Johnson. They should feel lucky if they get Niese.

They are two separate things. Mrose has a message board over there and I have started this site here. Mrose I think has plans of making his a full site and putting a lot of effort into it. I think once he is finished this site will be transferred over there. But for now keep posting.
