I think Delgado will be very cold when he gets back. He will be booed mercilessly, then turn it on the last month of the season and be cheered.

That’s a good point. I remember that whole “intellectual property” thing with David Letterman years ago when he switched networks. I am also not a lawyer, but I don’t believe we’ve ripped off any content. At worst we’ve “changed the names to protect the innocent” IMO.

I think another answer should have been a choice and that is Who the Hell knows. I mean for the most part none of us have anything to go by. If we are going by Arod who supposedly had the same surgery, he should be right back into mid season form. Yes he’s older, probably not in as good shape as Arod but he isnt in Mo Vaughn shape. I think this is why a choice should have been Who The Hell Knows!!

Agree 100% Joe. There is a high “crystal ball” element to the poll, and I ultimately chose a middling response because it was middling and I just have no concrete info on which to base a decision.

Had to go .260 also. He showed too much in the second half of last season and the very beginning of this one to think he is done.
Who knows how he will respond after surgery but I’m sure he’ll get sufficient rehab at bats in the minors rather than coming up here cold.

Not real worried about Delgado. More worried about how they’re going to deal with it. Murphy should be the every day first baseman by then. And what if they trade for someone? I think Delgado will be fine, and also be a great bat to have in the post season, but the lineup and positions need to be managed properly.

I think they may need another reliable bullpen arm. Outside of K-Rod, Parnell, and Putz (in close games anyway), the bullpen is pretty underwhelming.

In Feliciano’s defense, he’s been pretty good lately too.
It’d be good to see Green get some action during the rest of the cupcake stretch to see if he could get himself straightened out. If Green resurfaces as an effective pitcher, the pen may be okay.
But July will be here sooner than later and Jerry needs to find out what he’s got in Takahashi, Green and Stokes so Omar can make a move for a guy like Betancourt if need be.

Green frightens me big time. I really dont want him pitching and if I was Jerry I wouldnt give him too many more chances. Stokes can fill that role for the most part. Green really reminds me of Heilman too much. He cant limit damage and that slider or whatever it is just hangs over the plate for like 20 minutes.

What do we expect when Carlos Delgado returns?
The 2nd half Delgado that we are all used to. 14% [ 2 ]
A first half Delgado that will hit .260 with some power. 64% [ 9 ]
A struggling Delgado that will be inconsistent at best, maybe just plain bad. 21% [ 3 ]
