Well, we’re in first place with 7 significant pieces ailing. I am really starting to like this team. If we can get healthy I like our chances. The Dodgers look like world beaters, but I’m only thinking NL East right now.

    1. There's Always '10

I think the Dodgers are very beatable. We played a horrible series. Basically, pitch around Manny. Make Loney, Ethier, Martin, and/or Kemp beat you.

    2. udontmesswthejohan

I was thinking the other day that all that talk about this team having so heart has suddenly gone silent. They have been winning with back ups and, though it hasn;t always been pretty, they have been getting the job done. I look forward to getting the full compliment of players back on board and hoepfully watching this team hit it’s stride for real.

  2. trs86

I know that they swept us so I should not say this but they don’t really scare me that much.

    1. sabermetrician

I agree, head to head we have a shot. We could have won each of those games and we played HORRIBLY. (Of course I heard they’re missing one of their better players). I’m really looking forward to when they come here.

      1. rustyjr

Yeah sabes can u imagine how well we should do when jose and beltran comes back ( not sure about carlos d) ? We can be dominant !!!

  3. rustyjr

Btw I’m not sure that was a homer – I think we got lucky

    1. trs86

I still say 100% it was, of course I am biased, but seeing a ball change it’s flight path that quickly and drop straight down indicates it HAD to hit something.

      1. rustyjr

I agree about that but it still does feel right LOL but I’ll take it

        1. There's Always '10

I still don’t think Sheff’s should have been a homer. Looked to me like the fan was clearly reaching over the rail.

          1. rustyjr

He’ll if it erases those first couple of bonehead losses I’ll take it LOL

    2. udontmesswthejohan

Keep in mind that the reason (or at least part of the reason) that replay was instituted for HR calls was because of that horrible call made on the ball that Delgado hit during that Sunday night game at Yankee Stadium last year. As far as I am concerned, these last few days have been payback fromt he baseball gods.

      1. There's Always '10

What a horrific call that was. Good thing we still won that game :-)

  4. sabermetrician

Rusty’s post above has me thinking again about Delgado. I have to admit I’m worried that he won’t be back until late August/early September, and then what do we get out of him? What is everyone’s thoughts on this?

    1. trs86

Bonus at most, we should be moving on like he does not exist.

      1. rustyjr

Unfortunatly I agree if he comes back I see a platoon with him and murph – you can’t expect him to slot right back into the line-up

        1. trs86

Lets hope Murphy is still around. But him and Delgado are not great platoon partners because they are both LH.

        2. metsfan4decades

I have to agree with this. Although I think Carlos will be back BEFORE Sept., we don’t know what kind of Carlos will be back. Will his timing be off?
Either way, if Murph is hitting consistently through the summer, and becomes more comfortable playing first, how great would it be to have them both as a platoon? Just strengthens the team even more.

          1. rustyjr

Hi mf4d great to see u !! How’s the pup ? Damn it’s a shame matt imposed this blackout I was going through withdrawl LOL

          2. metsfan4decades

            Hi Rusty!
The pooch is coming along nicely – thanks.

Yeah, I don’t know what Matt is thinking. He has the most popular Mets blog site going, which he wouldn’t have without the fans visiting it. Then he just turned his back on all. I guess he makes his money though by the hits to the site, and not necessarily the comment section. But w/o that comment section, there has to be less people even going there. Maybe not enough though to matter to him.
Oh well….because of his decisions this site was born and I’m having so much fun – no doom and gloom – and the posts are great – I don’t miss the other site at all.

  5. There's Always '10

I think F-Mart needs to be sent down to the minors. He’s obviously not ready. Kid doesn’t even know how to run yet!

    New nickname: Pop-Tart.

    1. trs86

LOL, I don’t think we will see that happen to him again for a LONG time.

      1. There's Always '10

It’s good to get these things out of your system early. In all honesty, I’m more worried about him just relaxing at the plate. We may need him in the coming weeks. I think today will be a good day for him to take a deep breath.

    2. rustyjr

LOL – give the kid a break willie mays went I believe 0 for 30 before he came into his own

      1. There's Always '10

I know…I’m just fooling. I was the biggest proponent of bringing him up. I thin he will hit. Fact is, if he was 7 for 7, he wouldn’t be nearly as good as he looks. He needs to get that first hit out of the way.

        1. rustyjr

          Agreed

  6. rustyjr

Ok trs I’ll send u my first one tomorrow – I still got to get used to my iphone

    1. There's Always '10

are you blogging from your iphone? do you have the wordpress application?

      1. rustyjr

No I’m just commenting – I’ll do my post from my home of at 430 am LOL

    2. kingman26

Hey Rusty!! Welcome to the new world of Mets fans!!!

      1. rustyjr

Thanks for finding me in the wasteland of myspace LOL

        1. kingman26

You are most welcome! I thought that was you!

People were clamoring for you on here, and I am glad I was finally able to contribute something by bringing you over! As you will see, most of the best folks from that other site are already here–this place is unreal, considering TRS, Dirty, and MRose have only been doing it for about a week. The posts are better, as is the discourse over here.

Glad to have you here man—wouldn’t be complete without you.

          1. rustyjr

Thanks I feel very humble – great to be here

  7. sabermetrician

Interesting early look at relievers struggling (NL BS leaders). We know this stat all too well.

    Name—————-Team—-Blown Saves
    Brad Lidge———-PHI——-4
    Cory Wade———–LAD——-4
    Alan Embree———COL——-3
    Aaron Heilman——-CHC——-3
    Mike Gonzalez——-ATL——-3
    Renyel Pinto——–FLA——-3
    Cla Meredith——–SDG——-3
    Brian Wilson——–SFO——-3
    Carlos Villanueva—MIL——-3
    Joel Hanrahan——-WAS——-3
    Ronald Belisario—-LAD——-3
    Luke Gregerson——SDG——-3

    1. There's Always '10

It’s very good to see Lidge on that list. It’s about as good to see him on that list as it is bad to steal Jobu’s rum.

      1. dentulous

its even better to see him on top of the list. Hope he stays there.

    2. metsfan4decades

No doubt about it. Our BP this year – and more recently our starters, are a big reason we’re sitting in 1st place right now. With some our ‘core’ out and backup to the core, we knew the offense might be a problem.
Pitching, pitching, pitching. Keep the opposition off the board, we’ll have the opportunity to win lots of games.

And Lidge….he’s only got 4 blown saves? Feels like more, from what I’ve been seeing. I know they’ve used him in some non save situations too. And he’s just not getting it done at all. 8.85 ERA….

      1. kingman26

Ah, but at that pace, Lidge will blow 14 or 15 for the year! I will take that!

        1. rustyjr

Is he trying to do his best armando benitez or Aaron heilman impersonation ?

          1. kingman26

I think he may actually be going for a cross between Anthony Young and Doug Sisk….

          2. metsfan4decades

Oh man – Benitez. You never knew what you were getting when he took the mound….

          3. dirtysanchez

            benitez
            .:: shivers ::.

      2. sabermetrician

Lidge has been awful. I watch some of their games between innings of our games or when ours are over and he just looks out of sorts. He was amazing for them last year, but this year he could really be their downfall.

        1. metsfan4decades

I said it before the season started. I knew offensively the Phills had a good team but their pitching just didn’t impress me. -Not even if Lidge repeated what he did last year.
They have kid Cole but after that? Who signs a 46 year old to two years? And he’s been awful.
Myers is a mediocre #3, at best. He’s not been very good either. Blanton has been so/so. And Park, well he was doing his best imitation of Wang for awhile.

If Ollie can get his head out of the clouds and be competent (I’m no longer wishing for miracles), we’ll have a very solid rotation. And we will take the division.

    3. dirtysanchez

      Ah..the national bull S*** leaders lol j/k
Well ive said it so many times..every season is different and will yeild different results. Thats why i couldnt stand when people its 07 or 08 all over again because its obviously not. Brad Lidge has 4 blown saves..we have more injuries than in 08 and if you really want to go there…we are 6 games over .500 in 09, in 08 we were one game BELOW .500 in 4th place…think about that…

      1. trs86

Agreed, anyone expecting consistency out of their BP is just fooling themselves.

  8. rustyjr

Ok guys – heading into work I’ll comment on my lunch break

  9. mrose

wow….we’ve gained a few classic posters…welcome rusty and welcome udontmesswthejohan!

    1. trs86

hey mrose, did you see this?
      http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a195/IIXXKRAZEXXII/TheRealDirtyBanner800x150.jpg

Can you work on getting that up as our banner? I have no idea how to do that and I think you have to load it.

      1. dirtysanchez

lmao..i like the dirty splot lol good stuff…did you do this real? Mr. North?

        1. mrose

          Mr North, the man

    2. rustyjr

Thanks for having me kind sirs

  10. mrose

btw…anyone notice the “mistake of the day” or should I say morning over at the other place..about how Parnell, Feliciano, Putz and KRod each pitching a scoreless inning? I mean, I know Frankie’s run was unearned…but….that means he therefore didn’t throw a scoreless inning in my mind

    1. trs86

Very true. If you want to write that then you say each pitched an inning without giving up an earned run.

    2. kingman26

LOL! Did they really say that??

Parnell and Feliciano COMBINED for an inning, they did not pitch an inning each, and yeah, that run in the 9th does also put a damper on the accuracy.

Do they watch the games?? I mean, how can they make so many mistakes??

    3. There's Always '10

Also, Matt’s lineup was wrong and Rubin’s was right :-)

      1. kingman26

But seriously, HOW do they get so much wrong? They have all of the insider access? How do they do it??

        1. There's Always '10

I’d just say it has to do with getting information up there as quickly as possible. It’s human nature to overlook things when you work quickly.

For all the bad things we say about Matt, he did a great job of getting information posted to his site pretty quickly, regardless of whether it was correct or not. How was that for a backhanded compliment?

  11. trs86

Welcome, udontmesswthejohan. Another one of the ole gang.

    1. udontmesswthejohan

Ya, what’s up. Was on vaca for a while and took me awhile to find this place.

      1. kingman26

Glad to have you here too man….

        1. udontmesswthejohan

Well, I can apparently only go so long before I need to start bloviating on Mets games, so here I am. still finding my way around the place though.

          1. mrose

and please give us any criticism you have… we won’t turn off the comments and get angry ;)

          2. trs86

And most likely we will even fix the issue.

          3. rustyjr

            Cold mrose cold LOL

      2. mrose

out of curiosity udontmess, how did you find us? i’m curious how we are reaching folks

        1. udontmesswthejohan

I was actually around last week when everything went down, but I was getting ready to go on vacation and really busy at work so I never had the chance to register and all. I just saved the link to the nleastchatter forum and then found this site through there.

          1. mrose

            sweet

  12. sabermetrician

trs- Could we put up a poll to get the feel of how every is thinking Delgado will be when he gets back? I just want to gauge the pulse of the fans here.

    1. trs86

      Hmmm, I will attempt it.

    2. kingman26

That is a good question…here is one optimistic early reply–since it was his hip and not his hand, I think he will probably be good to very good at least….A lineup of Reyes, Castillo, Beltran, Delgado, Wright, Sheffield, RF, C, P looks pretty damn good for the stretch run, especially considering how fresh just about everyone will be.

And throw Wagner in the pen and maybe a handful of good games from Ollie, and we may really have something going….

      1. There's Always '10

…and cats and mice will get along!

  13. metsfan4decades

Cool. Just noticed the NL East standings to the left. Thank you.
And look at that. The normal calculation for standings is being used. Even bigger thank you. I always hated that calc of games back in the loss column. No one but MC uses that….

    1. There's Always '10

Well, when the Philles are 3-2 and the Mets are 3-0, it makes sense that the Phillies are two losses behind. Everyone knows the Mets will go undefeated one year. Agree with that being ridiculous.

  14. rustyjr

Btw what happened on matts site yesterday? Wanny or trs promoted this site and matt deleted of? Kinda petty matt if u r reading this

    1. dirtysanchez

i can understand him deleting solicitation on that site…we got to find a better way to get the word out

      1. trs86

Agree on both parts. I did not approach it as make the switch. I approached it as coexist.

        1. dirtysanchez

i really think he sees us as a threat real..otherwise what makes a link to our site any different than lets say hotfoot?

          1. rustyjr

Exactly – I seen many sites promote and post their sites on there – I hate being critical cuz I like matt and the site

      2. There's Always '10

I think visiting FanNation on CNNSI.com would be a possible way to get people here.

Visit there daily and if you see one of the five or so articles under Truth & RUmors pertaining to the Mets, you can promote the site. I’ll handle that if you guys would like. I have a handle over there: Mets In 2009 :-)

        1. dirtysanchez

That would be great TA…just do it respectfully ;p

          1. There's Always '10

Absolutely. That’s actually a pretty cool forum. Usually use it during football season. Even met a few Philly fans that I became cyber-friends with. We exchanged good natured ribbings, but that’s it.

I’ll see if I can find some Metsies fans.

      3. DNDJohan aka kistics

I don’t know about you guys, but I kinda like the exclusive club going on here. I know it’s better if we get more people involved, but I also don’t like trolls that will come with it. Just my 2 cents…

        1. dirtysanchez

Thats the difference imo about us and them. WE will monitor the comment section and any trolling will not be tolerated. Unlike matt who just let it fester and turned that into a scheme to keep them coming…we appreciate all you guys coming hear and sharing a piece of your mind with us and we will do what it takes to perserve the enviornment.

        2. mrose

but the trolls were half his fault, he ASKED for those trolls by his articles about one day, mets are the best ever..next, they suck, just from one game won and one game lost

          1. rustyjr

            Can’t argue with that mrose

          2. wannybackstra

and for all of his bandwagon jumping, i.e. wright can’t hit in the clutch, his after the fact preference for lowe over ollie, etc.

    2. kingman26

The comments were on briefly I think Tuesday, and a few of us tried to log in—my IP address was apparently banned! I am so proud!

TRS made a really reasonable post about Matt having a link to us over here, and referred people to click on mrose’s name, and very soon after Matt closed the comments again (of course, while lying about the reason) and then deleted the comments of EVERY person who is over here, except I think for one from oleo.

It is a pretty surprisingly weak move by Matt….but Rusty, after being away from there for a couple of week, and especially after this place came to life, I truly feel liberated from the negativity, the ignorance, and most of all, the overall mediocrity of that site with their ceaseless mistakes…I realized pretty quick that the back-and-forth with everyone who is now here was truly all that site was worth for the most part—with some exceptions of course like Matt’s cool info during spring training…..

      1. mrose

well, don’t forget, according to matt, visit his site for more fan interaction…

      2. dirtysanchez

yea and thats why i dont really understand why we cannot coexist with matt but yet he has 20 something blogs linked on his site…he has SNY’s ear and gets interviews..hell we can even give some love to metsblog as an informational site but im not sure if we should even bother anymore…obviously he does not have much business sense to understand this.

      3. DNDJohan aka kistics

I really don’t understand why any of our IP addresses were banned. I feel violated!

      4. rustyjr

U r spot on my hiphop metal jazz loving friend

  15. Joe R

Every win we can put under our belt right now I am looking at as a pennant race September type of win. Yes things are good and I am optimistic but lets not forget we arent exactly putting all starts out there. This team is just as capable to go out there and lose 6 in a row with really no fault of their own due to the talent. This is why every win we get until we get some help i,e. Beltran, Reyes, etc I get more excited than usual at this time of the year. Put them in the bank, dont blow games that are sure wins with stupidity and carelessness, lets stick around 1st place, and be in a nice position to make our run when things come together. Lets Go Mets

    1. dirtysanchez

lol yea. The only thing i keep reminding myself is when these guys come off the DL…they will be well rested lol ;p
It just amazes me we are even this competitive still….

      1. Joe R

I hope…I mean this Reyes thing is the mystery of all mysteries. I’m very concerned. I find it hard to believe that in 5 days or so the pain will be totally gone and it wont come back the minute he sprints to first. I’m no doc but something seems a little off. I also hope they rest Beltran til he’s 110% ok. I dont want to hear the rest of the season about those knees lol

        1. dirtysanchez

its the miracle shot for beltran lol…
i think these guys play hurt more than we know. Beltrans knees will be a nagging issue but he needed a breather…i mean bay just asked francona for a break…carlos needed a break

Reyes..sigh…im glad he went on the DL..let him heal 100% and then come back. He has a history of leg issues

      2. There's Always '10

I’m really hoping Delgado can come back and have a strong 2nd half of the season. I think they’re going to need his lefty power.

        1. sabermetrician

Joe, ’10, I agree. We need these guys and there are definitely question marks. I think Beltran will be fine, but the Reyes injury is scary. Delgado is so old that you really don’t know how hard it will be to come back (that said ARod is no spring chicken and he has come back very nicely).

        2. dirtysanchez

agreed…think about this however..when he comes back…gary could still be hot. Imagine beltran/gado/wright/shef(hot)…

          1. sabermetrician

Oh man, we’d be filthy. AND you could have Reyes and Castillo(still producing) in front of them. Wow.

          2. wannybackstra

I think like any power hitter Sheffield will have his peaks and valleys this season. I just hope the valleys can be controlled.

    2. sabermetrician

I feel the same way. This stretch of cupcakes right now is critical because of the condition we’re in. We need to make hay and keep it coming. Get the division lead and the pen we have now won’t relinquish it in September. I think we’re in GREAT shape.

      1. kingman26

The stretch of cupcakes is even more important when you look at the five weeks leading up to the All-Star break after next week—10 series—I think it is 2 with the Yanks, 2 with the Phils, and the Dodgers, Cards, Brewers, Reds, Rays, and O’s—that is brutal!!

        1. wannybackstra

          piece of cupcake!

        2. sabermetrician

Wow, hadn’t looked that far ahead. That is absolutely brutal (well except the O’s, lol).

        3. DNDJohan aka kistics

Beat me to it! It’ll be a real test for our pitching staff.

      2. DNDJohan aka kistics

I agree. Mets need to go at least 6-4 if not 7-3 for upcoming 10 games. Then the schedule gets real ugly. Phillie Phucs, Yankee Phucs, Os, Rays, Cards, Yanks, Brewers… Boy! it’ll be a real test for the Mets pitching staff.

  16. DNDJohan aka kistics

I’m sorry to post this here, but does anyone want to buy my tickets to this Saturday’s game? Awesome seats 3rd row behind the Marlin’s dugout. Section 123 row 3. Face value is $225, but I bought them at $150, but things came up and I cannot go. I’ll sell them to you at $125 per ticket. You can pay via Paypal and I’ll send the tickets to you by email.

Once again, sorry I’m posting this here, but I need to get rid of these tickets.

    1. mrose

not a problem to post here, but you can also post in the Ticket Exchange forum over at http://www.nleastchatter.com/forum that we setup

      1. DNDJohan aka kistics

Yes, I did post in the Ticket Exchange forum with my contact info. Thanks!

  17. There's Always '10

Just in case you guys didn’t know:

Note: Daniel Murphy is 24 Years Old
    By Matthew Cerrone – May 28, 2009 9:08 am

    1. dirtysanchez

Your Kidding! Damn! and here i thought he was a grizzled old vet ;p

    2. sabermetrician

Matt can be such a dope. I used to love some of the stuff he put up there because it was outside of the box, but he seems like he’s just trying to get content up a lot of the time now.

      1. There's Always '10

Agreed. The piece he wrote was basically about how he keeps forgetting that Murph is 24 yrs old and has less than 300 at bats. I clicked on the comments section, but there weren’t any comments there. Strange. :-D

        1. sabermetrician

          No comments?? Hmmmm. LOL

          1. There's Always '10

yea, i think the link must have been broken.

    3. wannybackstra

Whatever sudden and obvious realizations Mattsblog.com reaches, it is good to see Murphy get his swing back. Hopefully, he has a little streak like the 131 at bat streak he had last season.

He had two really nice swings last night (one being the homer, the other being the not very wlel played 2B to LF).

      1. sabermetrician

Yeah, the 2B was even more encouraging to me.

I think Jerry needs to understand that most hitters are streaky and that they need to play through their bad streaks in order to reverse them.

He shows very little patience for anyone other than Wright, Reyes, Delgado and Beltran. Guys like Murphy and Church have had a tough time getting out of their funks because you can’t do it from the bench.

And I won’t even get into the absurdity of his l?R fascination and all of his related doublespeak, i.e. Murphy can hit lefties, Parnell is a “crossover” pitcher, etc.

          1. sabermetrician

Agreed 100%. Manuel either overreacts or mistimes his reactions. I love that we’re winning, but sometimes I feel like that’s in spite of Manuel.

        2. DNDJohan aka kistics

I think it’ll be more encouraging if we see Murphy going up the middle.

  18. wannybackstra

What is the consensus here as to whether Manuel should have taken Martinez (Fernando) out of the game last night?

I’m on the fence. On one hand he shouldn’t need to be benched to have learned his lesson. On the other hand, the bigger the fuss made out of it, the less likely it is to happen again.

And I’d like to see the kid calm down at the plate a little bit. He doesn’t have to swing at every strike.

    1. sabermetrician

I don’t think he needs benched because it was so glaring, but I understand the sentiment.

He does need to settle down. He looks way amped up (Like Carlos Zambrano loaded full of lattes).

      1. There's Always '10

Wow…Carlos Zambrano on a glass of milk is pretty intense. Full of lattes? He is likely to be able to throw the ball over the left field wall in that scenario.

F-Mart needs to settle down a bit. Don’t think a benching was in order there. I don’t think it was pure laziness or frustration. To me, it was more nerves than anything.

        1. dirtysanchez

agreed..it seems his whole time here he has been dealing with nerves…this kids got alot of pressure

          1. wannybackstra

I wonder when the Mets front office will learn to stop hyping their prospects in the press so adamantly.

Speaking of prospects, Mejia has his first rough start of the season last night, giving up to runs in 4 innings but with lots of baserunners.

          2. dirtysanchez

            ouch reg mejia

I doubt the mets FO will stop hyping their guys because they are pretty good at it. We are not known for having a strong farm system so they have to talk up the good ones that come from time to time for trade value…

          3. wannybackstra

I agree with that to a certain extent. But they put far too much pressure on the guys they are planning on keeping. They talked about Murphy this offseason like he was Ted Williams and Fernando has been the savior of the franchise since he was 16.

In reality, teams trade for the guys their scouts like. And if you notice, most of the guys the Mets have traded have not been members of the front office’s hype train, i.e. Guerra, Humber, Mulvey, Gomez (who was hyped but to a much lesser extent than F-Mart, etc.), Ezequiel Carrera, Mike Carp, etc.

          4. dirtysanchez

good points but we also traded scott kasmir and he was pretty up there in hype for (at the time)a good zambrano.. reply as a new thread to continue this discussion..i hate reading it like this.

      2. wannybackstra

No lattes for Zambrano. He stomped the coffee maker to bits and pieces.

        1. dirtysanchez

          and the gatorade machine ;p

    2. dirtysanchez

Imo i think he was brought up too early and looks a little overmatched but anyway

I also am on the fence…common baseball protocol is you are supposed to be benched. Willie benched castillo(i think it was) for not running out a fly ball that was dropped. At the same time, give the mets situation they need production from Fmart…

Im torn on this one..i guess they can sit him for the first game of the marlins series for reed

      1. There's Always '10

I still wouldn’t sit him. I think he should start every day he is here. It’ll serve two purposes:

        1) he’ll get the experience against major league pitching that he needs; and
        B) it’ll help us better gage where he is in terms of helping us later this year and starting next year full time.

        1. sabermetrician

          You just pulled a Matt: 1) & B)

          1. There's Always '10

it was a Rocky reference. You know, the greatest athlete in the history of philadelphia who happens to be – you know – fictional.

          2. rustyjr

Watch out u may be banned :p LOL

      2. udontmesswthejohan

I think he would have been within his rights to bench him BUT I’m glad that he didn’t. If he had been in the Bigs for a few months and does that…then fine you bench him. While there is still no excuse big leagues for 10 days, 10 months, 10 years, by all accounts this was an abberation and not an on going problem. No need to mess with hs confidence when he is already prob feeling a little overwhelmed.

        1. Joe R

I agree. Talk to him and encourage him. There shouldnt be one negative word uttered his way. Not saying he shouldnt be criticized but it should be done in a positive way. A joke by Manuel is fine with me along the lines of you know if you have been up here a few weeks you would be on the bench for that lol.

    3. wannybackstra

Kazmir is a good example of a hype machine guy that we traded.

And they should have learned their lesson then — perhaps if they didn’t overhype the kid they wouldn’t have gotten killed so bad for trading him. On the flipside, if he wasn’t overhyped, maybe they wouldn’t have gotten someone as good as Zambrano for him!

  19. Joe R

Yes we all have high hopes for Murphy. We all know if he doesnt hit, he doesnt play, and he’s not in MLB. I just hate, and I hope it doesnt happen here as much, that if a player has one good game all of a sudden Matt writes a speech about how maybe we were too hard on him, we should give the players more time and think of all the obstacles they go through day in and day out that we just dont realize. It’s as if Matt feels bad and has a gulity conscience. He’s confessing in his blog and I feel like the priest that has to tell him, “Its Ok Matt, you weren’t that tough on Murphy. Just try not to get overly excited and form your rock solid opinions after each game. Matt, the season is long and this is the 20th time you have come for my forgiveness. One day you hate someone and the next you are fond of them again. 5 Our Fathers and dont come back for at least a month”

    1. sabermetrician

LOL…great summary of the Human Ego.

      1. Joe R

Haha..its just nuts how one good game after a huge slump for Murphy and Matt starts talking about cross country trips and the rigors of playing on the big stage! He needs to calm down!

  20. sabermetrician

We need a rescue mission. Who here can go get VCarver?

    1. dirtysanchez

loll we are mobilizing a rescue team as we speak

      1. There's Always '10

We should pretend to be buddies with Matt and step into the ring with him. Shake his hand…then you hear over the loudspeaker in the background….”‘N’-'W’-'O’”. Then Hollywood Hogan comes out playing air guitar and….you know the rest.

        1. dirtysanchez

          loll i remember..
