In a video from Rootzoo.com, Darryl Strawberry promotes his new book, “Straw” as well as answers questions on controversies such as Pete Rose and Steroids users who have Hall of Fame numbers.
RootZoo is a fairly new site which wants to give more fan opinions and interviews on all sports. I have just begun to check the site out, but we are hoping to forge a relationship with them to bring Mets related content to our site. Please check out the video below and check out http://www.rootzoo.com as well.  If the video is not coming up below, click here.

For more Darrrrryl videos where he answers some fan questions, you can also watch this video.

I love that Straw has gotten his life together an is back in the fold with the Mets. But, I always find it slightly amusing when he is on pre/post game and talks about proper fundamentals and always playing the game the right way. There were many times, when he was playing, at least as a young gun with the Mets, when he would do just the opposite.

I think he is a guy who has a lot to offer conisdering all of the issues he has dealt with throughout his life and career. I just wish that he would sometimes preface his comments by saying something like “I didn’t always do things the right way when I was playing but the proper play here is…”

he’d use that disclaimer more than Minaya says, “Juu nooo”

Man.. Braves made a great move… McClouth is a stud

But I still think Mets and Phillies are better teams

Totally better. Mcclouth isn’t a stud. He had a very good year.

the braves are lame, they do have hot girls, though

Braves are definitely lame. For some reason, Kotchman, Johnson, McClouth, Diaz, Franceour, Jergen’s Lotion, and Co don’t scare me – unless they are playing the Mets.

FYI, I read his book a few weeks ago. If I had a lot to say, I’d make a post of my review of it…but I can sum up my opinion in a couple sentences.

It’s not the most well written book you’ll ever read, but it’s definitely entertaining – especially for Mets fans. The book goes through his entire life, so only a few chapters are dedicated to his time on the Mets, but they were the most fun chapters to read. At times it can get a bit preachy after Straw became a born-again Christian. That bothered me a bit, but not too much – it’s an autobiography after all, so he should write about what matters most to him. I’d definitely recommend the book for all Mets fans; as a plus it only took me two days to read, and believe me when I say that I’m NOT an avid reader in the least.

Thanks for the review. I rarely read sports books now a days, but one that I did read about a year ago and would strongly recommend is “The Bad Guys Won” by Jeff Pearlman. Great read and you can get through it in a day or two as well.
