Hey that would be a great saying for the t-shirt case – The Real Dirty Meta Blog – Ya got something to say ??? Say it here !!!

    1. mrose

i think you are onto something!

      1. rustyjr

It’s brash it’s arrogant yet not vulgar

        1. trs86

I like it. Maybe the Logo on the front and that saying on the back.

          1. rustyjr

            I’d go with that

    2. CaseStreet

hmm, it does sound good and kind of captures the essence of why many of us come on here instead of the other place

Don’t want to beat a dead horse, but I just finished reading the transcript of the Q & A with Cerrone. IMO I thought it was a stand up thing for him to come over here and go ahead and anser some of the issues that people had.

Truth is that he may have a different philosophy about how to run his blog, but it is after all his blog and he has been very successful running it. Anyway, i think it’s time to move on.

    1. rustyjr

Very true johan but on the same token he had a tinge of arrogance in his comments also he really never answered my question about what he liked/ disliked about this blog

On the plus side, last time I saw him on SNY, he was wearing a red shirt. Didn’t see an SNY logo on it, so it musta been his!

        1. rustyjr

          changed your name?

          1. There's Always '27

Yea. Just don’t know what we’re going to do without Ramon Martinez.

          2. rustyjr

            Rotfl also pagan

          3. There's Always '27

It’s ok, Reyes will be back soon (rolling eyes)

    2. CaseStreet

Yeah, that Q & A was very confusing.

His rationale for the whole fiasco didn’t make sense and I can’t believe a guy this successful is so insecure that he felt he couldn’t comment on his own blog. I was on there since late 07 and never saw him comment, if it wasn’t to be rude to someone (I know what the report said).

I wish him luck, cause if he continues on the path he’s on, he won’t be #1 for long.

      1. CaseStreet

the whole trust thing also bothered me, but whatever.

  3. There's Always '27

Just read Matt’s replies in the comments section. Consider the hatchet buried.

Gotta give him props. He answered the questions.

    1. mrose

he replied in the comments section??

      1. There's Always '27

Sorry. Used the wrong verbage. His replies from the transcript.

Is anyone else relieved that Nate McClouth is out of the Pitt lineup today? 8)

    1. prismo

Now it’s really like a AAA game!

      1. There's Always '27

the one caviat is he is now officially a mets killer.

        1. darknova306

Agreed. We already don’t play the Braves well, this is gonna make it worse. They’re not going to contend this year, but they’ll definitely make it really tough on us thanks to him and Larry in that lineup. Ugh.

    2. darknova306

We should be able to beat them with McClouth in the lineup in the first place. This helps, yes, but we shouldn’t have to rely on it. If Redding pitches today, I have a feeling we’re sunk anyway (unless Beltran is 100% healthy and can pick up where he left off).

      1. There's Always '27

their lineup the first two days of this series is arguably better than ours.

      2. darknova306

Ugh, I’m an idiot… Rainout yesterday means that Pelf pitches today, not Redding.

    3. CaseStreet

I wonder if that guy was a one hit wonder.

      1. There's Always '27

Maybe you should call Pope Mike and ask him. He’ll have an answer and rest assured, he’ll be right.

I can see Pelf getting shelled today. I think he has a bright big league career ahead of him and he is one dominant offspeed pitch away from being an ace, but he needs to start working on it. I just have a feeling he’ll get shelled because when it rains, it pours. Seems like whenever we can’t do anything right, the Phils are blowing teams out. Can’t stomach another division title for them.

I thought the Matt Q&A was bizarre and I actually felt bad for this site when the questions seemingly treated Matt Cerrone like a celebrity. We sounded like star-struck teenagers. I’m surprised we didn’t ask him who from history he’d like to go out to dinner with like in the Steve Serby NY Post Q&As. Who cares what Matt Cerrone thinks about anything other than Mattsblog.com?

re: McLouth — he’s a good player but he’s also overrated. He deserved his gold glove about as much as I deserve to keep my job with all the time I spend here. Gold Gloves magically appear on players who have big offensive years sometimes (see Rafael Palmeiro who won a GG as a DH, etc.).

  6. prismo

    Line-up’s out guys:

    Cora, ss
    Castillo, 2b
    Beltran, cf
    Sheffield, rf
    Wright, 3b
    Murphy, 1b
    F. Martinez, lf
    Santos, c
    Pelfrey, rhp

Honestly…it’s not that bad! Cora and Beltran coming back makes a huge difference.

    1. DNDJohan aka kistics

Yes, it’s not a bad line up. It would have been better if that was Reyes instead of Cora and Delgado instead of Murphy.

      1. CaseStreet

All we need is Reyes and Church back.

        1. darknova306

I doubt we’ll be seeing Reyes anytime soon, and Church won’t get playing time when he comes back (thanks, Jerry). I wonder how Cora’s hand will hold up swinging a bat.

          1. There's Always '27

I’d like to see F-Mart go yard today and make Church’s return a moot point, except to spell Sheff.

      2. There's Always '27

Or Valdez instead of Murphy. Same average. At least Valdez wears a glove, not a frying pan.

  7. CaseStreet

Was reading the Daily News this morning and Adam Rubin has a story on Lance Broadway. Apparently he wasn’t happy w/ the trade but felt better after meeting w/ the Brass which told him they want to start.

So looks like a few more starts for Redding and he could be replaced by Mr. Broadway.

  8. CaseStreet

BTW, looks like the Mets Brass wants to pack the place against the Phils

    1. DNDJohan aka kistics

Believe it or not, if you go on stubhub, you can get some really good deals for weekday games, especially last minute.

      1. There's Always '27

I got tickets in the promenade reserved for $23 apiece on stubhub. But that comes out to $78 apiece after StubHub, Fred & Jeff Wilpon, Cipriani Construction Company, Genovese Hauling, DeLorenzo Carting, and Donnie Brasco all get their piece.

        1. CaseStreet

          everybody gets their cut

I might try to get tix at the window
