Wow – alot of good things happened on 7 June in history for our NY Mets.

Buddy Harrelson was my favorite Met on that ’69 team. Don’t ask me why. Probably b/c I was a very young fan at the time and my Dad was playing SS at the time in a local league. Buddy was a good SS but a very light hitting one….

“New York Mets selected Charlie “Chuckie” Williams in seventh round of free agent draft on June 7, 1968.”

May 11, 1972: Traded by the New York Mets with $50,000 to the San Francisco Giants for Willie Mays.

“New York Mets selected the late John” I threw a no-hitter on L.S.D – BUT NOT FOR THE METS !!” Milner in 14th round of free agent draft on June 7, 1968. – That would’ve been a classic footnote in Mets history if it happened for us”

John “The Hammer” Milner was an outfielder/1stbaseman. It would have taken a very special dose of L.S.D. to pitch a no-hitter from 1st base or the outfield. :)
