Man Up Awards For Tuesday Night

Lol sorry im a day late folks…had a long night at school lol. Here we go..

First up Johan Santana. Now this was not Santana best outing by no means (4hrs is tied with his career high) but what Johan is getting a MUA for is the essence of the MUA’s, he never gave up. Johan helped his own cause by doubling in his first RBI of the season. After 91 pitches, Jerry came in with the hook to get him out andby various accounts that did not go as easy as Jerry thought. Johan was pleading his case to stay on the mound and that he had enough left in the tank for this game but Jerry decided to go to the 2nd best bullpen in the majors to put the cap on this game. Jimmy Rollins said that the Mets cannot win with one really good player(Johan), well his 8th win of the season sure is making Jimmy eat crow on this one. Johans era jumped a little to 2.39 but it sure will be a fun ride as we have not seen the best of Mr. Santana yet.

Next up is Pedro Feliciano. What a year this guy is cooking up. So far he has only had 6ER against him in 31 games! Right now Feliciano has a lower ERA than Johan at 2.25. Pedro gets a MUA today because of his high pressure outing last night and geting the job done. Pedro came in witha man on first to face the big man Ryan Howard. In 4 pitches, he made the big guy roll over on one to induce a double play. Pedro’s night was not over by a long shot because now he would have to contend with Raul Ibanez. Raul is obliterating lefties, he is hitting .327 with a .691SLG and 7 HRs! Somebody didnt tell Pedro! Pedro went in and withhis stat of lefties hitting only .143, got Raul to ground out to end the inning. Pedro is having a very good year and hopefully it keeps getting better.

Next up is Fransisco Rodriguez. The Metsdid not have a first round pick in the draft this year and that is due to the signing of Type A FA Frankie Rodriguez…but i doubt you will hear any gripe from any Met fan. Krod came into a very intense 9thinning(the kind that closers are always talking about), the Mets up by a run and a division rival that is leading the NL with home runs at the plate. Seemed just like another walk in the park for Mr. Krod. After letting up a single to Rollins, he bared down to close the game and earn his 16 save IN A ROW! Krod has a ridiculous 0.65 ERA this season and is definitelyworth every dime. While it is unfortunate we had to give up a pick for him, you will hear no complaints from me. Well done

Next up are the tag team champs David Wright and Carlos Beltran. Mr. Wright and Mr. Beltran combined last night to go 3/7 with 2HRS and 3RBI. These two guys have really stepped it up the last few games, each hitting over .300 and silencing Mr. Brave Chipper Jones regarding the HR ability at Citi Field. David was in a severe HR drought(100 ab) coming into this game and finally broke out of it by hitting his 4th of the season, while Beltran leads the team in HR’s by hitting his 8th all year. These two are the biggest reasons the Mets are where they are today and seem to thrive in games that mean alot. The Mets have beaten the Phills 4/5 times so far this season and these two are a big reason why.

Last up is Ryan Church. Since coming back, Church has gone 3/8 and scored 3 runs. Church is hitting .278 for the year and hit his 2nd HR of the season, which turned out to be the game winning run of the contest. Manuel has said Church will be his regular starting RF and he has done well to keep his part of the deal. On the HR, Ryan joked “They moved the fences in. Really.” Ryan hit his shot dead center, right into the “big apple”. In that incredible shot(which seemed right out of a And1 commercial) he said “To drop it in their from that distance, it ought to be worththree points.” With this kind of production, Ryan should have no problem earning playing time and rack up a few MUA’s in the process ;p

Pedro really deserves this MUA. That inning was HUGE. Last year, the Phils would’ve def scored there.

agreed. His turnaround is right up there with bobby parnells sudden dominance. Definatly a big reason the bullpen is doing well this year…

I agree but it was nice to see frankie rub it on their faces btw did u see that dejected look on pricuorinos face after the church bombing?

        1. dirtysanchez

lol i didnt get a chance to watch the game…and forgot to dvr it. I hope he was dejected and i hope krod has a f’in fireworks show when he saves a game just to prove the point. The phills are so hypocritical its not even funny.

K-Rod did have some nice celebrating. They showed Vicky staring at him and his eyes were daggers.

Man if Victorino doesnt look like a bush baby I dont know what does…

Yeah I saw that! Was he pissed at KRod? Why?? I guess someone forgot to tell Vicky KRod ALWAYS does the same celebration. That b–ch’s gotta relax. I don’t understand why he takes ever F-IN gesture that the Mets do as showing them up. Can’t they just celebrate for their success?

            What’s up with Vicky?

I hope we have a good opportunity to plunk Vicky in this series. I want that score settled, but if no opportunity arises and we sweep I’ll get over it.

    1. QnsNative718

The most important thing was getting that first win of the series. If we can win 1/2 I’ll be satisfied.

      1. sabermetrician

I totally agree from a series perspective that it suffices to win the series, but if we only get 2 of 3 we’d better plunk Vicky in the loss. He has it coming.

anyone read the Keith story on Mets Today?

Despite what Keith said, I find it very hard to believe.

    1. dirtysanchez

yea i read that…i dont know how much truth there is to that. Like the guy at MM said and i agree with, i never heard of the “latin” players rebelling against willie. That is crazy if thats the case.
