Good morning Mets fans (I DARE YOU TO TELL ME WHATS SO GOOD ABOUT IT AFTER LAST NIGHTS LOSS !) it’s time for the early Friday edition of “This Day In Mets Infamy With Rusty” . So lets cut with the small talk and get to some positive info.
Warmest birthday wishes go out to pitcher of the ’67 team before fading into obscurity Gerry Arrigo (1941)
Also celebrating getting another year older is former utilityman on the late ’80′s – early ’90′s Keith “Jack Of All Trades ” Miller (1963)
His father was a ’69 Oriole and he spent time with us on a putrid ’95 team Damon “t Justice” Buford (1970)
and bringing up the rear is birthday boy Luis “Slappy” Castillo (1975) – if you ask me i’d list that date at atleast 1965 lol
New York Mets signed free agent the late Frank “Tug ” McGraw on June 12, 1964. – damn I miss him !
New York Mets traded pitcher Rob Gardner and catcher Johnny ” I made the last out in Robin Roberts perfect game” Stephenson to the Chicago Cubs for Bob “thats Headly” Hendley on June 12, 1967.
Los Angeles Dodgers signed Danny “top of the” Heep of the New York Mets as a free agent on June 12, 1987. – He was our pinch hitting specialist back in those days
New York Mets traded Wayne Housie to the Milwaukee Brewers for Josias Manzanillo on June 12, 1993.
New York Yankees claimed Darren “Fort” Bragg of the New York Mets on waivers on June 12, 2001.- He want on to have a less than illustrious career – but he so did about 98% of most Mets players (can you tell i’m still bitter about last night??!!)
Oh and lastly …. MO VAUGHN IS STILL FAT !!!!!!!!
