Game Time: 7:05 pm

Record: 4-2 Era: 4.68 K: 28 BB: 26 WHIP: 1.47
Mets Notes:
-
Pelfrey was locked in for the first six innings against the Phillies Wednesday, allowing just two hits and one run. Things fell apart a bit in the seventh, however, as he gave up hits to the three men he faced — all of whom came around to score against the Mets’ bullpen to tie the game and eliminate Pelfrey’s chances for a fifth win. Pelfrey is making his first career start both at Camden Yards and against the Orioles. He is 2-0 in three career Interleague starts — all on the road — with a 6.00 ERA.
-
The Mets are 12-7 all-time against the Orioles, but haven’t faced them since dropping two of three at home June 16-18, 2006. They last visited Camden Yards in 2001. New York’s Mike Pelfrey seeks his first win in nearly six weeks when he starts against Baltimore for the first time. The right-hander is 0-2 despite a respectable 4.10 ERA in six starts since a 7-5 victory over Philadelphia on May 7, as he’s received only 10 total runs of support in that stretch. He did, though, endure his worst outing of the season June 4, when he gave up nine runs, nine hits, four walks and one hit batter in 3 2-3 innings of an 11-6 loss at Pittsburgh.

Record: 4-6 Era: 5.62 K: 47 BB: 21 WHIP: 1.45
Orioles Notes:
-
The struggles continued for Guthrie in his last outing. The right-hander fell to 4-6 on the season, allowing two home runs for an AL-worst 16 on the year. He pitched six innings, giving up six hits and striking out two.
-
The Orioles are looking for a third consecutive victory after beating Atlanta 11-2 on Sunday and 8-4 on Saturday to take a three- game set. Those wins followed a 2-10 stretch during which they hit .227 while getting outscored 59-22. Baltimore ended that offensive slump in the two wins against the Braves, collecting 29 hits including three homers.
-
They’ll give the ball to Jeremy Guthrie, who is 0-2 with an 8.53 ERA and five homers allowed in his last three starts. The right-hander lost again Wednesday, allowing four runs and six hits – two homers – in a 4-1 defeat at Seattle. He’s been touched for an AL-high 16 home runs on the season.

Gary Cohen with off air sarcasm about Mets lack of offense on the MLB.com feed.
“It’ll be interesting with guys on base….if we ever get any on.” Keith LOLs, then they come back on air.

That picture of Pelfrey looks like Daniel Murphy doing an impression of Pelfrey.

Wow, gotta love Wright getting in Big Pelf’s face there.
He is clearly going to be the MVP leader of the next Mets title team…maybe not this year, but sometime soon.
He rocks.
Maybe Dave should be player-manager…..

OK, that was a tough play, but that dropped popup might be a sign that things are going to turn around for us…
How could it not be?
And how does Peter Angelos get SO little criticism for completely destroying a franchise which was one of baseball’s best from the mid-60s to the late 90s??
