According to David Lennon of Newsday, Carlos Beltran is still bothered by a bone bruise on his right knee and will have an MRI soon. As if the Mets needed more injuries right? Lennon also says via his twitter feed that he feels the Mets will move on a trade if Beltran is forced to the DL. Lets hold our collective breath!

why bother? If they lose Beltran too, who could they possibly get (even if emptying the farm) that will give them a chance of the playoffs (at least a realistic one)?
Is Holt, Thole and Martinez for Holliday gonna do the trick?
Factor in gutting a weak farm, and you can potentailly shoot down hope for years to come (since they won’t be able to fill holes, or will have to go back to overpaying mediocre FAs)
although he is still playing, so how bad can it be?

Didn’t he already have one MRI? It didn’t show anything other than a bruise?
You know this just isn’t going to be good. I’m assuming the mindset is, if it was only a bruise, it should have felt better by now.
Sigh….

well, if Beltran goes down, the season IMO is pretty much done. I really dont see the point in trading the farm to salvage this season, would be a waste IMO. Get strong and come back healthy next season.
I really hope Beltran is ok though.
