Gameday Weather 6-20-09

Heres the ominous live radar

Here's the ominous live radar

Update (3:05pm): Wow this system is bookin’! There are still some decent size thunderstorms developing in central/eastern PA, and that will probably continue throughout the day…but I think we’re nearing the point where if they really want to get this game in today, they just might be able to! (with at least one rain delay likely) Still gonna be a close call though. If the Mets end up playing today and I convinced anyone not to go, then I’m sincerely sorry.

Update (1:15pm): If anyone’s looking for a glimmer of hope that the game could be played today, there is one – this rain system is moving a couple hours ahead of all of this morning’s models. Maybe there will be enough of a break after the upcoming rain to play most or all of the game? We’ll wait and see…

Mets vs Rays
CitiField at 4:10pm
Temperature: 74°F
Overcast, rain rain rain
Wind from the south, 8-11mph.

Gotta say folks, today’s game isn’t looking too hot. It’s looking more like a total washout. The worse news is that tomorrow could be wet as well. Quick, sell your tickets on stubhub! (oh boy am I gonna hear it if I’m wrong…)

Live Radar

Friday’s verification: Forecast gametime temp – 75°F; Actual temp – 77°F

Damn national broadcasts. I hope if they have to wait 4 hours to start the game that we still get to see it on TV, but somehow I doubt it.

Well good luck guys. Maybe they’ll delay the game a few hours and the rain will clear out? Unlikely, but I guess it could happen.

anyone know if there are common days off?

Dang. We’re going to be playing a lot of double headers and make up games second half of the season if this sun doesn’t start making a regular appearance. Down here on the Jersey shore I swear it’s been weeks since we had two sunny days in a row…

I’m hoping they get this game in, even if they have to wait a few hours to do it. I’d rather they call it up front though then start it, Johan pitches 2 innings and it’s delayed long enough that if it does resume, we’ll have to find another pitcher to finish the game. Rather see a complete start from Johan if and when we ever see sun again….

That might be a good thing since by then we should have alot of guys back and maybe Omar makes a trade or it can just be meaning less games

haha, you realize that because you decided not to go…they’re going to play – right?

I think they are going to try the best they can to play this one, with another possible rainout tomorrow, theres no way they can make up 2 games. I think it will start to clear up somewhat by 4 or 5

      2. mrose

yes…and if that happens, then it happens, lol
