The Yankees beat the Mets 9-1, besting them in every phase of the game. Watching this horror did not inspire me to think of any creative theme, or conjure up in my mind any funny captions to put under odd pictures. The Mets were just bad. The Yankees were BAD. You have my sympathies.
Thursday the Dr. Jekyll Mets showed up and Friday night the Mr. Hyde Mets were front and center. Hopefully tomorrow Dr. Jekyll will once more take control of the Mets.

The Yankees have outscored the Mets 24-1 in the last two games between them. Jerry’s overnight plan is to figure a way of getting that hof candidate Brett Gardner out. He might also explain why he brought Parnell and Green into a game that was already out of reach.
BTW And do we really want to see Elmer Dessens again this year?

as always, Jerry is an idiot. Never gorget it.
There is a reason Dessens stayed at AAA so long with his great (until June) numbers. He isn’t really any good, but a 33 YO can get by on smarts and guile for a while in the minors.
Get through this stretch, and try to weed out the filler and stick with guys that have a legitimate right to be in the majors.
Yanks this weekend and the Phils next, and other than that, hopefully some teams without quite som much offense to worry about.
I am still amazed that the Mets are 1/2 game out of 1st place.
Then again, this could be 1973 all over again. I am downgrading my prediction to 84 wins being enough to take the division!
