Gameday Weather 6-26-09

Mr. Met's too gangsta for an umbrella

Mets vs Yankees
CitiField at 7:10pm
Temperature: 78°F
Mostly cloudy, 40% chance of showers and thunderstorms
Wind from the northwest, 8-12mph.

Definitely a night where we could see a rain delay at some point (after this week, we should be used to it). The latest model run has less rain in NY tonight than the previous run, so that’s a positive trend – but thunderstorms don’t always care about what the models say. I don’t expect a postponement though – rain delay at worst.

Opening Day for the Long Island City YMCA Little League (try putting all that on the front of a jersey) today at 5:30. My teams first game is tomorrow morning at 9.

There’s something slightly unnatural about 9:00am baseball. I remember yawning my way through warmups and then feeling sick to my stomach because I’d sneak a Coke and that’s too early to drink Coke. The folks should’ve turned me on to coffee, would’ve made me a better Little Leaguer.

hmm, box of joe for the team sounds like a good idea

Red Bull! Especially if stolen bases are allowed.

It would just be the same formula, but in a 50% smaller container/quantity.

You should probably contact them about that and reap the rewards of your good idea.

Lil’ Red Bull (c)(tm) and whatever else. It’s mine!

Its like giving your kid a cup of coffee with a coke as the chaser. So I would say sure why not.

That reminds me. One of my favorite Summer night weekend desserts is a Coke Float. It’s Coke with Coffee ice cream in it. Mmmmm.

I just can’t stop staring at Mr. Met. Those big, penetrating eyes. That inviting smile.

Mr. Met must’ve had a Coke Float!
