Isn’t it funny that we havent heard a peep from Fred or jeff since may? and omar has been inexplicitly absent to the media also – I wonder if they are trying to avaid the ever growing disinfranchised mets fans that overpay for tickets. food , parking, merchandise and is seeing below average team being feilder – yes we are plauged by injuries but thats why u have to have a plan b and the got a luxury tax exemption this year for having built a new stadium so why did our payroll stay roughly the same and why according to Heyman or Rosenthal we can take on about 5 million in salary? Im trying to be optimistic – i havent jumped ship but the silence from ownership is deafening!!!

Yeah, good point….Omar has been on SNY, but not one word from the Wilpons about anything.

The injuries have been horrid, but the horrific fundamental play has nothing to do with that.

Gotta wonder what Steinbrenner would have said in his day about a team that lacks fundies like we do.

total meltdown – gm and manager fired , elevator operators canned puppies sacrificed !! lol but i think fred and jeff knew what ythey were getting into and took a chance to be honest oh kong my question is do u have any recollection of don clendennon before he was a met?? was he a “star” or a mid level player ala a ray knight that just caught lightening in the bottle and carried the team in 69?

Hey Rusty….I was only 2 in 1969, so I cannot say that I remember Clendenon at all really, other than stories from my Dad and Uncle….1973 are my earliest really solid memories, and he was gone by then.

He was a good player, not a star, and yeah, I think a comparison with Knight is probably a pretty good one…his year and a half in 1969 and 1970 with us was some of the best baseball of his career. And he was great in the 69 Series.

I think this is typical for the Wilpons. It was weeks after the firing of Willie before you heard a peep out of them concerning that controversy.
And it’s probably just as well. No matter what they say, everyone will be all over them. And probably b/c there is no positive spin you can put on the situation right now…

well since i am once again not allowed in the promenade club – i am very pissed – they changed the policy again !!! and im a partial plan holder !!!

You know I’ve been reading about that. First they won’t let certain ticket holders in, then they decide to, now they won’t – again? Sounds like the employees have no idea from night to night….
And that sux. If that club isn’t getting much business, why not let all in who have tickets to the promenade section?
