This Day In Mets Infamy With Rusty 7/2/09

Good Morning all ( I’m alot happier after yesterdays game!!). It’s time for everyones favorite column for useless Mets information – It’s …. “THIS DAY IN METS INFAMY WITH RUSTY !!!”
First off born on this date is reliever for the ’67 team Hal ” As If” Reniff (1938)
Also lighting an extra candle on his cake, you know him best as an Expo Tim “Hemi” Spehr (1966)
Gimpy outfielder, Richard Hidalgo (1975) – by the way another great Steve Phillps move (rolling eyes)
current Met , and perennial disabled list standby – Angel “In the Outfield” Pagan (1981)

New York Mets selected backup catcher for the Mets who went on to have a decent career with the Pirates Duffy Dyer in seventh round of free agent draft on July 2, 1966.
And lastly todays Mo Vaughn tidbit – after retiring in 2002 Mo tried his hand at sumo wrestling – but was told that he exceeded all of their weight classes.

I always liked Duffy Dyer. He was a credible back up to Jerry Grote back in the day….

I know that Angel “In The Outfield” Pagan makes more sense, but I will always think of him as Angel “In The Dodger Stadium Camera Well” Pagan.
