- The Kingsport Mets beat the Burlington Royals 8-3 Saturday. Manager Mike DiFelice’s club is currently 4-8, in 4th place in the West Division. 5 members of the 2009 draft class took part, led by Darrell Ceciliani. The OF from Oregon had by far his best game as a professional. Ceciliani played RF and batted 2nd, and went 3 for 4 with a walk plus his 1st double and 1st homer of the season. He also stole 2 bases and scored 4 runs. Perhaps the comparison to Jacoby Ellsbury is related to more than just Oregon roots. 3B Joseph Bonfe was 2 for 3 with a walk and a run scored and is batting .349 in 11 games. CF Ronald Harris was 1 for 5 with a 3rd inning RBI single. C John Freeman was 2 for 5 highlighted by a 3-run double in the 7th inning. LF John Semel was 2 for 4 and stole his 1st base of the year. For more info see the box score and recap.
