Gulf Coast League
- The GCL Mets beat the GCL Nationals 1-0 Saturday, and 3 GCL Mets pitchers combined for a no-hitter. Salvador Aguilar started and pitched 1 perfect inning. Jhonathan Torres followed with 6 hitless innings, walking 2 while striking out 8. Torres (4-0) got the win. Marcos Tabata finished up with 2 perfect innings, striking out 2, and picking up his 2nd save. For more see the game story.
- 4 players selected in the 2009 draft participated in the historic game. Josh Dunn pinch hit in the 8th inning, grounding into an inning ending fielder’s choice to go 0 for 1. He finished the game at 3B. CF ZeErika Hall and C Nelfi Zapata both went 0 for 3 with a walk. RF Cody Holliday singled with 2 outs in the 7th inning and came around to score the GCL Mets only run of the game, finishing the game 1 for 2. See the box score and recap for more.
Appalachian League
- The Bristol Sox scored 6 runs in the top of the 9th inning to beat the Kingsport Mets 11-5. 2 pitchers drafted in 2009 took part. Thomas Chism threw 1 2/3 innings of scoreless relief, giving up 1 hit and 2 walks, and allowing 1 inherited runner to score. Brian Needham (1-1) pitched 2 2/3 innings, giving up those decisive 6 runs on 7 hits and 3 walks to get the loss. Representing the 2009 draft class on the offense, RF Darrell Ceciliani went 0 for 4. RF Kurt Steinhauer went 1 for 3 with a 4th inning RBI single. CF Ronald Harris went 2 for 3 with 2 singles and a run scored. 3B Ryan Mollica had a 5th inning RBI single, walked twice and scored a run to finish 1 for 2. See the box score and recap for more.
New York-Penn League
- The Staten Island Yankees defeated the Brooklyn Cyclones 6-0. Joseph Bonfe celebrated his promotion from Kingsport by coming in as a defensive replacement at 3B in the 8th inning. He grounded out to 3B in the bottom of the inning to go 0 for 1 at the plate in his Brooklyn debut. SS Robbie Shields was 0 for 3. LF Nick Santomauro went 1 for 4 with a 9th inning single, and 1B Alex Gregory finished 2 for 4 with 2 doubles giving him 6 on the season. For more see the box score, recap and game story.

The good news is that the GCL Mets and the Cyclones are in first place in their respective divisions, and the VSL Mets are 1.5 games out. You already know the bad news.
