This Day In Mets Infamy With Rusty 7-13-09

Good Morning folks it is time for the All Star Break edition of “This Day In Mets Infamy With Rusty” – so grab your Mr. Mets coffee mug and lets get started.
First off a very happy birthday goes out to starting pitcher for the mediocre ’74 team Jack “Ak Ak ” Aker (1940)
and our catcher for all of ’84 Mike “Fitzie” Fitzgerald (1960) – I still believe if we didn’t aquire Gary Carter, Mike would of been a better than average hitting catcher ,

New York Mets purchased ex Brooklyn Dodger catcher and cousin of Pete Falcone, Brooklyn’s own -Joe Pignatano from the San Francisco Giants on July 13, 1962. – he later became a coach under Gil Hodges and stayed in the organization through the Joe Torre years.

New York Mets signed free agent Bob ” Edie” McClure on July 13, 1988.
And lastly Mo Vaughn likes to put ketchup on his ketchup
