That’s fantastic. I am confident that you and the kids will have a wonderful time. Go ‘clones!

Beach Bums, Free Cyclones Cap, and we’ll be on the field for the National Anthem. Pretty Sweet!

Good to see Robbie Shields getting on the stat sheet.

Now if we can only get him to go by the name Rob, Robert or Bobby even.

    Something about Robbie bothers me.

      Not a Robby Benson fan?

Oh and I just call him that because that’s what they call him.

Imagine my shock when Jeffrey Greene became Chase Greene. I have to call a Met minor league 2B “Chase.”

        Cole Zapata?

        1. fongy2

          Wow! That reminded me,
          RIP Brian Cole.
          What might have been!

          1. wannybackstra

He sure looked like a future star with Eric Davis type skills. His career minor league record was .306 .347 .503 with 50 SBs one year and 69 the next!

    free zapata!

      ZeErika….Male OR Female?

      1. GravediggerHebner

I think we would’ve read more about ‘her’ if he was a she. That’s kind of big news.

        1. fongy2

          ZeErika?!?
          What a shame.

          1. GravediggerHebner

Don’t get me started on modern names. I met a girl a few years ago named “Cottonelle.” No BS.

          2. fongy2

            Was she soft?

          3. fongy2

Reminds me,I once took a statement from
a Korean shop owner in Bklyn Named Ng Ng.I kid you not.

          4. GravediggerHebner

Yeah, I used to work with a guy named Dung. I know it means a different thing in his native language than it does in mine, and I focused on that thought a lot while working with him.

          5. wannybackstra

The Vietnamese Prime Minister is named Dung (and may very well be an accurate reflection!).

          6. GravediggerHebner

I never got to touch her, but just in looking at her I would say yes, squeeze-ably soft.

          7. fongy2

            Nice!

The Phillies designated Tyler Walker for assignment to make room for Clay Condrey, according to MLB.com’s Todd Zolecki. Walker, 33, has only pitched 11 innings for the Phillies this year, but he’s done well, allowing ten hits and a walk to go along with five Ks and a 1.64 ERA.

Saw it, go get him Omar.
      Another fmr Met!

    2. GravediggerHebner

Former Met 2nd round draft choice. His presence on the Mets now might allow Parnell to go down for more seasoning, although that’s a fairly obvious “white flag” move.

      1. fongy2

        I thought more along
the “throwing mud against the wall”
        type move. I haven’t
        raised the white flag
        yet.We are however in
the trench, out of bullets and are only
        support are a bunch
        of kids who don’t have
        to shave yet. So!?

        1. GravediggerHebner

If I thought these kids had anything close to the same moxie as those wading ashore at the beaches of Normandy on D-Day, I would be more hopeful. And if Hitler was running the Phillies I’d be ecstatic because I’d know he’d overextend himself! But Amaro Jr. has exhibited no fascist tendencies that I’m aware of.

          1. fongy2

            Nice, BUT I
            was thinking more
            along the WW1
            lines.

          2. GravediggerHebner

Yeah, the trenches gave that away. But my knowledge of WWI is teeny-tiny compared to my knowledge of WWII. I surely would’ve butchered the comparison had I tried to use a WWI analogy.

          3. fongy2

Heb,you should read He Stachan’s”The First World War”I became obsessed with the Subject after
reading that book while on biz in Dallas a few yrs ago. That War,what lead up to it and its aftermath really set the stage for almost all world politics since.
The Good, the Bad AND the Ugly!

Lugo DFA’d too. We can get Walker and Lugo in here and have a whole different mediocre-to-poor team by next week! The rearrangement of the deck chairs on the Titanic began with Frenchy, bring on Walker and Lugo.

    1. fongy2

reminds me of the 3 priests
      on the Titanic, while going
      down,1st one says”save the
      children”,”save the children”
      2nd says “eff the children”
3rd says “ya think we have time?”
Don’t ban me its just a joke!
      And I am a Catholic.

For some reason I’m suddenly thinking about the old TV show “Touched By An Angel”

        1. fongy2

          Over my head
          although my
          new bride does
          have the CD soundtrack.
          Not awful.
          Not good BUT
          not awful.

          1. GravediggerHebner

The actual content of the show has nothing to do with it. I was just following up on the idea of priests touching children with the phrase “touched by an angel.”

I can’t recall who the comedian was who said this, but I remember someone saying that if the TV show “touched by an angel” had been based on his life it would’ve been called “Touched By An Uncle.”

          2. fongy2

            LoL,for about 10seconds! Thanks! I needed that!
