First up is Johan Santana. Johan is known for being a second half pitcher and he got his second half off to a great start with his performance tonight in Turner Field. Johan tossed 7 innings of shutout ball. This was his first win in his previous 4 road games. Johan is one of the few bright lights that remain on such a dismal season and we can only hope that competitive nature of Johan rubbs off on the rest of the team. Johan has lowered his era to 2.93 and has improved to 11-7.
Next up is Brian Stokes. Brian pitched only .1 of an inning, but what a situation to get called up on. Brian entered with bases loaded and the Mets only up a run. Brian fell behind Greg Norton 3-1 before blowing 2 fastballs by him to strike him out and keep the Mets with a lead.
Last up is Angel Pagan. Angel had a very nice day today. Angel went 3-4 with a RBI and a run scored. Angel hit a tripple this game and his run scored came in very uncharachteristic fashion. Angel was on 3rd with luis castillo up and one out in the top of the 9th. Manuel called for a suicide squeeze, and it worked! Castillo bunted and the Braves had no play on Angel who successfully turned the Mets first suicide squeeze play of the year. Hopefully their first of many.
Honerable Mentions
David Wright for going 1-2 with a run scored. David must have intimidated Cox as he was intentionally walked 3 times
Jeff Francoeur for going 2-4 with an RBI
Jerry Manuel for calling a suicide squeeze

Saw some signs of life last night. Maybe we can go into DC with a mini winning streak. LGM!
