No mention of the bizarre promotion in Brooklyn?

It wasn’t drafted in June (I think?) which is the focus of this piece.
I do/will occasionally mention promotions (I promoted the “Baracklyn Cyclones” game) but beforehand, not after the fact. I was out of town and didn’t do a “draft and follow” for Saturday which would’ve been the better time to bring it up IMO.
For those who wonder what the heck we’re talking about, yesterday was “Bellies and Baseball Day” at Keyspan Park. You can read more about it at:

Case!
Do you have any thoughts on/impressions of yesterday’s starter Darin Gorski?
I’m very intrigued by him since I read this article when covering the draft:

nice college career, but he needs to develop some more velocity to ever sniff the majors (or some incredible alternate pitches).
DId pretty good last night, but FB only hit 85 mostly, occasionally 86.
It does seem like he has good control, and knows how to pitch, so that is something. He might pick up a few MPH with some work on mechanics (and age!), and who knows, could be another Neise in a few years.

Hey Grave!
From what little I saw (My two year-old is a handful), Darin seemed to have good control, went through the hitters very efficiently and when in trouble was able to get out of it. There was a good mix of groundball and flyball outs, not too many strikeouts.
Hopefully I can do some better scouting next time I head out to see my new team, the Cyclones.

Nice game for Wilmer Flores, by the way, in the Savannah rout. He was 4 for 4 with 2 RBI batting cleanup.

Marte has been hitting lately too.
Wonder if Wilmer can stay at SS after he finishes growing?

I’ve read that his defense has improved (Flores).
His batting average is back up .287 but the power is not there yet. Knowing the Mets he will be at St. Lucie next season, if not later this year. Like with Holt, I hope they are cautious with these 17 year olds (including Marte).
