Gameday Weather 7-29-09

The Mets will try to dodge rain bullets to extend their win streak

The Mets will try dodging rain bullets to extend their win streak

Mets vs Rockies
CitiField at 7:10pm
Temperature: 78°F
Overcast, 60% chance of showers/thunderstorms
Wind from the south, 12-14mph.

Tonight’s game has a potential to be a doozy, weatherwise. There’s definitely a good chance of a thunderstorm coming into play at some point in the game, with the likelihood increasing as game goes on. Unfortunately due to the whole moving thing, it’s unlikely that I’ll be able to post weather updates on twitter. Maybe I’ll manage to get one in before the game starts…

Live Radar

CitiField; Friday, 7:10pm – 80°F [Mostly Cloudy, chance of thunderstorms]

Tuesday’s Verification: Forecast temp – 83°F, Gametime temp – 77°F

I was halfway out of the room this morning so I may have misheard but I thought I heard a forecast for the NYC area this afternoon that included the phrase “60 mph winds and hail” which made me glad I’m not down there.

NOooooooo. I hate that song and now it’ll be in my head all day.

Anyone know whether the Mets store sells Mets Ponchos?

          You’re welcome!

But seriously, I hate that song too, I’m sorry to have “given” it to you.

Perhaps this will be a better song to hum at a Mets game:

“We Are The Champions my friend,
and we’ll keep on fighting ’til the end
          We Are The Champions
          We Are The Champions
          no time for losers
          We Are The Champions
          of the world!”

My three year old son totally on his own said, “Daddy, I want to hear Meet the Mets.”

I’d say I’m doing my job as a father.
