2009 Mets Motivational Model Puzzle Piece

trdmbpuzzle_061

For game 1 of the double header. While i was debating putting on this because this is Megan Fox Ban Day, I thought they need an incentive to get another streak going

Well they tease us for a week, but in the end it’s the same old junk Omar threw together. Thanks Sean Green, for a wonderful effort.

So typical Mets to load the bases on walks and then get a miracle double play…then..Then! Then! throw a wild pitch! On the first pitch too! I’d say un-believable, but at this point i am never shocked.

Sean Green is a buffoon. This team has shown time and again that it doesn’t deserve to win. From Omar’s ineptitude to blunder after blunder. I don’t think next year is going to be very good either…sadly.

sry this is all on jerry. screwing the lineup when it was working, berroa pinch hitting over reed. yup great job by jerry

Take care Whata…I’m going to try to sleep this loss (and season) off.

Next year is a lost cause the phillies braves and marlins will be notably better than us with our broken ss and centerfielder we are already toast

I can see writing this season off, but next season already? Some of you guys really sound depressed – lol.

We have no idea what this team will look like next year. I am sure it’s not going to look exactly like currently constructed. I’m thinking we should take a look at the team we’ll be fielding, before we write 2010 off…

The 2010 team looks like it’s going to be like the 2009 pre injuries team. NOT THAT GOOD!

      1. metsfan4decades

I’m not believing we’re going into 2010 with the same team. Bare minimum, I expect to see deals for SP.

I hope its not, but something tells me it wont be a big upgrade over what we already have on the field. I mean if we have Murph at 1st and FMart in LF, we are screwed…

The offseason will be a success if we have a new ML caliber LFer and a solid #2. Anything less is just not championship caliber.

        2. CaseStreet

I can see us going w/ at least two of Murph, F-Mart and Niese. Hopefully, saving money in these positions will allow us to go after some top FA’s like Bengie Molina, Matt Holliday, Bobby Abreu, Lackey and Harden.

Where is gravedigger with his “this team is not weak” comment? LOL

On the way to a 5 game losing streak…

What do you know about anything other than being a nattering nabob of negativity? Seriously!

That line you derisively refer to rhymed and fit the melody of a song I was parodying. Do you even understand what rhyme, melody or parody are?

I took a night off. I believe it was well earned. I guess even you take a night off every once in a while, because I didn’t read anything you wrote trashing David Wright tonight.

    tough loss…whats worse

ok with everything that transpired today except not getting VMart!! This on top of helping us this year would have prevented Omar having to revisit the catcher spot this off season….unless of course Santos is our long term option. He can play first as well and help next year Murphy platoon or at least provide a nice emergency back up. He also provides that extra pop we have been looking for the last 3 years! For what we most likely could have gotten him for its the perfect move anyway u slice it. What a shame. He wouldnt take a spot or a log jam when our guys get back either.

I really think Omar knows these guys arent coming back soon or this year at all and thats why giving up prospects for no reason wasnt done. If Omar believed these guys were coming soon I believe he would have made a move to keep us close around .500 til we were able to make a push. So Omar is lying to us a bit and his comments today did contradict themselves Im OK with this. I mean he really cant say listen our guys may not come back so im not wasting even 1 prospect on a rental. But VMart?? Really Omar….??

I really don’t understand why everyone loves Victor Martinez so much. He just doesn’t seem that great to me.

      1. CaseStreet

he’s a good hitter for a catcher, but he’s not a full time catcher and just an avg first baseman.

      2. gategem

Perhaps you should ask Theo and the RedSox scouting staff. Perhaps the RedSox don’t know what they’re doing and should be straightened out by those of us that know so much more than they do.

Sorry if I seem bitter but I can’t see the ownership in the Bronx giving up on the season on July 31st. I wasn’t looking for major upgrades but small incremental upgrades that would allow the team to win a game like the one tonight.

[sarcasm]But I guess after 47 odd years of following this team I’m just one of the spoiled bandwagon fans that want a HOF player at every position. I don’t appreciate how great and fan oriented this franchise has been. [/sarcasm]

it would take 42 more wins to finish the puzzle. that will never happen barring a 23+ game winning streak at some point.

  10. CaseStreet

In sum, one guy (V-Mart) isn’t going to fix the Mets problems, this year. We need the rest of the guys to comeback. Without them, there’s no playoffs.

Hopefully, these guys comeback soon and we can pick up someone before the August 31 deadline. If not, we still have our trading chips for the winter and will have Niese and F-Mart to inexpensively fill some holes while the Mets fill other holes with free agents.

    1. whataputz

You keep saying that each time they pass on somebody “This one guy won’t make a difference” “That one guy isn’t going to change anything.”, but 1 guy plus 1 guy and so on starts adding up and making a difference!

Parnell for Dunn…holt and neise for v-mart, and thats two huge holes filled for next year! and you keep the all-mighty f-mart!

      1. CaseStreet

ur right, 1 guy here and 1 guy there does make a difference. It’s still alot to pay. The Sox were able to do it because they’ve got tons of SPing, so trading one of the SP prospects doesn’t hurt them. The Mets on the other hand, don’t have many top SP prospects are will need to replace at least one SP (maybe Livan and/or Maine) next year. Also, I really don’t think V-Mart is that much of an improvement over what we have. Dunn yes, but not V-Mart.

I do think we could’ve made improvements by trading B prospects for guys like Nick Johnson and Jerry Hairston Jr.
