- The GCL Mets and the GCL Nationals game was suspended due to rain in the 10th inning with the score tied at 4-4. 3 players drafted in 2009 played for the GCL Mets. C Nelfi Zapata went 0 for 5 with 4 strikeouts. LF Chase Greene had a 5th inning single to go 1 for 5. RF ZeErika Hall singled in the 3rd inning, walked and scored in the 7th inning and walked in the 9th inning to go 1 for 3. See the box score and recap for more.
Appalachian League
- The Kingsport Mets beat the Greeneville Astros 10-2. 4 members of the draft class of ’09 played for the K-Mets. P Zachary Von Tersch threw a scoreless 9th inning, recording 1 strikeout. LF John Semel singled in the 1st, walked in the 7th and stole 2nd base (his 8th), then scored to go 1 for 5. C John Freeman singled in the 6th, doubled and scored in the 8th and singled in the 9th to go 3 for 5. DH Ronald Harris singled in the 2nd, hit a solo homer (his 4th) in the 4th, singled in the 7th to drive in 2 runs, and singled in the 8th to go 4 for 5. For more see the box score and recap.
South Atlantic League
- The Bowling Green Hot Rods beat the Savannah Sand Gnats 11-2. 2 players drafted this June played for the Gnats. LF Joseph August walked in the 2nd and singled in the 9th to go 1 for 3. P Lance Hoge (0-2) started and lost. He allowed 5 runs, 4 earned, on 5 hits in 4 innings. For more see the game story, box score and recap.

Yesterday would have been a very nice win seeing as a lot of the teams in front of us lost. The thing is that there are so many teams ahead of us that inevitably some will lose every night. The Mets need to focus on 1 thing, and that’s winning. Just win baby! Don’t worry bout Philly, don’t worry bout Omar, Adam Rubin, people ripping off their shirts and challenging the team to fights (it’s simple baseball protocol people). but seriously, Shef will be back soon, and if we can keep plugging, and can be about 3 or 4 games out comes late august (very reasonable!), and some people can come back, even if just Delgado and an 85 percent Beltran, that is a huge deal. Now with Francour, and Shef in the line-up, there is some legit power. Plus, it looks like the ball might be carrying out a little bit more due to this weather. As annoyed as I am with this team, theydo have a tiny bit of life.
