Reese Havens, Mets 2B in 2011.

I agree while adding IMO that will be somewhere between July-Sept 2011, then full time in 2012. Castillo’s contract expires at the end of 2011.
If Reese is ready the Mets can ship off Castillo in a 2011 deadline deal. He’s still in Hi A ball, he’s got a year at AA and one at AAA ahead of him IMO which lines up nicely with the end of Castillo, if the Mets don’t rush him.

Lot of options there really. Could be Tejda or Flores too both are so young you can’t even really look at stats yet.

yeah, maybe Tejada @ 2B, since Flores is HUNORMOUS.
BTW, wasn’t Havens supposed to be a Catcher ala Russell Martin?

That was oft-mentioned around the time he was drafted.
If you’re really into reading a long heated discussion on Havens check out the comments on this article:

And agreed Case, Flores is so big and theoretically still growing that unless he can somehow pull a Cal Ripken in the middle infield I see him winding up on a corner somewhere (I don’t mean 42nd St., I mean 3B, 1B, LF or RF).

Most likely right. But will he have the power for those positions?

I hope so because if not then he winds up added to the list of overhyped underwhelming Met prospects.
