Below are some Dr. Seuss words of wisdom for the Mets and their fans. Enjoy!

Thing 1 that the Mets make me want to do
“I have heard sometimes you’ll play lonely games too, games you can’t win because you’ll play against you.”

Thing 2 that the Mets make me want to do
“As you partake of the world’s bill of fare, that’s darned good advice to follow. Do a lot of spitting out the hot air, and be careful what you swallow.”

Thing 3 that the Mets make me want to achieve
“How did it get so late so soon? It’s night before it’s afternoon. December is here before it’s June. My goodness how the time has flewn. How did it get so late so soon?”

meh, Johan wasnt great, but at least he went 8 and handed the BP the lead. Louie, definitely. He was having a great year.
Well, i guess nothing should surprise us anymore.

It looks like I will have to lose my avatar. Omar just signed him to play 2nd base for the Mets.

As long as your avatar uses the escalator we should be OK. If it takes the stairs, we are doomed.

Well guys maybe this season was over weeks ago but for me the season ended today. Goodbye 2009. What a shame. On a side note Green should never throw another pitch again as a Met. When you hit a batter in that situation its because you cant handle the pressure. Imagine this was September and we were in a race like the last 2 years….he would hae fit in perfectly. Gedt rid of him…hes not a gamer and i dont want him.

I honestly believe Omar’s indifference at the trade deadline sent a distinct message to the club: This season is lost and act accordingly. They were showing signs of life, and even had Omar pulled off a minor deal for another serviceable bat or decent arm, they might have kept playing well. Once nothing was done, this team was done as well. (they were likely finished anyway, but it would have been nice to see some fresh blood join the squad). Oh well, maybe they’ll just tank it and the Mets can get a good draft pick out of this catastrophe of a season.

I agree with the idea that the lack of a move let the air out of the “momentum” if I dare even call it that. I am not sure whether Omar was indifferent of if he was under orders, but the end result is the same. I guess we’ll never know for sure, unless someone in the know writes a book.

yeah and some of the bats we have been linked to the last year or so all moved. VMart was Omars biggest mistake for contless reasons not only for this year but next as well….insane

I was lurking over at Metsblog (I never post there) and noticed that a few misguided souls (that I’m sure check under their beds each night before drifting into dream world) proposed the theory that the Mets knew their players were lost for the season but tried to string the fans along to keep interest in the season alive as well as provide justification for not trading for or acquiring players in another teams salary dump by saying what will we do with all the players we acquired when the walking wounded return.

This really has been comical the last 2 1/2 years. I mean if they can compile all the post game interviews from all the ridiculously, pathetic, horrible losses it would be unbelievable. This really is a bad franchise at the moment. We won 1 division title the last 4 years when we were favorites. The phils have passed us as the best team and organization in the east. Nect year wsouldnt be surprised if Atlanta was back on top.

Well I still have to suffer through 3 more games iwill be in san diego for 1 and arizona for 2 then I can go away and tune the mets out of my world (which I know I won’t) and get really drunk for the rest of the season

That list bit sounds sublime. And I’ve heard only nice things about San Diego. Excellent Zoo there I’ve been told. Great weather.

I had the good fortune of working and living in San Diego a number of years back. The weather is outstanding, the girls are even better and the proximity to Tijuana is even better. If you go across the border don’t catch the swine flu, get kidnapped, thrown in jail or shot up by the drug cartel. The Ho’s there know this trick with a basket that I have only seen done in Thailand.

Meh…what difference does it make??….this is all about 2011 (2010 will be a disaster of realizing Reyes or Trons carreer has been cut short and the Jerry /Omar midseason firings).

Remember what goes around comes around the injury bug hit the yanks last year it will hit the phils , braves marlins and even the cards again and I hate to say it I hope at not such an alarming rate but it will hit them too we will get past this remember we are all only good or bad on paper next year

Do you know how surreal this season has been? Let me sum it up….
Castillo? was everyone’s bet for first guy on the DL this year.
Queue the unbelievable. He was only 1 of four position players who was at opening day, still left standing – along with a handful of pitchers.
Tonight? Castillo finally catches the injury bug. How?
Queue the bizarre. He stumbles going down the dugout steps and is in so much pain he can’t put any weight on his ankle and had to be helped to the clubhouse.
That pretty much sums up everything you need to know about this season.
Never mind the big screen TVs for the obstructed views and more Met history. Apparently what we really need for Citi Field is handicap rails for the dugout steps.
You just cannot make this stuff up.

Ladies and Gentlemen, Boys and Girls, Mets fans around the world allow me to officially say to you that “The New York Mets 2009 Inaugural Season at Citi Fields” is now over.
Next on the agenda how and what can we improve to get ready for 2010 and who will lead us into making those improvements?
The floor is now open I surrender my comment space to the Mets fan that can comment 1st.
