I'm bailing folks
It was a long day of yardwork in the hot sun and I can’t keep my eyes open, so I’m bailing out on the post game. The combination of the long day and the 10:10pm eastern starting time have done me in.

Last place here we come washingtons 7 game winning streak and the mets 3 game loosing streak I can definetley see a real chance for last place my friends perfect chance for a free pick 1 st round pick, ohh I forgot the mets have to stay within mlbs recomendations so that mlb will reward us for following the rules with great scheduling like our 3 year starting on the road thing and allstar game at citi selection, ohh I forgot they seemed to pass us up on that too yeah bud and freddy boy are buddies that must be the payoff for following the rules of the draft so last place won’t even do us any good other than that were in trouble loosing to this putrid san diego team but then again we are worse.

We and the players on the DL are the lucky ones. They are either rehabbing in Florida, recuperating at home or just concentrating on getting their work in and then going home. We can raise our anger at baseball for only keeping one team in New York City and demand a NL team is placed in New York City. In the meantime we can take the gf or wife out or you can attend one of the three minor league teams stationed in Queens, Brooklyn or Staten island or go to a movie or a strip club. But consider the poor player that must be a participant in these games. They can’t just turn the set off.

Its just incredible when you think about it how frustrating having the Wilpons as owners is. They have the two biggest heartbreaks ever in consecutive seasons, then go into the next year with a new ballpark in the works. For all intensive purposes, this is the first time the Mets actually built a new stadium. The 62-63 mets where nothing close to a good baseball team.
They were still becoming what they where, there were no expectations, so I’m going to call the opening of Citi Field our second ever stadium, which is a huge deal. We build this new stadium and we after two eye gauging seasons, and we play in new york, so obviously we are going to acquire a bunch of talent and spend the money to guarantee this doesn’t happen again right? THEY ADD NO HITTERS! The Yankees drop 400 mil like they are buying a pack of gum at a convenience store. I understand you cannot compare a real baseball team to the Yankees, but as fans we do have to deal with those clowns all the time, and it would be nice to see our owner somewhat trying to compete with our crosstown rivals. I mean they miss the playoffs for one year, so they sign the two best FA pitchers, and best overall FA player. Then when we actually see our new stadium, it’s a goddamn shrine to another team, and has the dumbest dimensions a stadium has ever had. I’m shocked there isn’t a shark infested pool in center field as well. Then, as the Mets would do in such a huge season, the entire roster gets injured, and poof another eye gauging season. So obviously the Wilpons are going to go into this offseason ready to take on a ton of payroll, right? Especially with Gado and Wagner coming off the books, they are really going to spend! You see where this is going.
I understand the Mets do have a high payroll, but this is freaking NY. This is a city that will pack the park if there is anything resembling a glimmer of hope. This is not a city in which you compete. You go out there and spend the most money, and you try to win championships. Obviously you cannot buy championships, but you cannot consider yourself a credible team when you enter a season, such an important season with Mike Pelfrey as your 2 starter. So we can continue to talk about whether or not Omar, or our coaching staff will be back next year, but in the end of the day this problem isn’t going away until the Wilpons sell this team. You had a mediocre run, with some good moments. t looked like we were building something here, but for whatever reason it just hasn’t worked, and its time for a make-over owner addition.

I’m one of these die hard Met fans who tune in to watch every Met game, even when they start at 10pm and the team is awful. I’ll be here to the end but dang, it’s getting hard.
Again, these post game wrap ups, even when you can’t bear to write about them, are often the highlight of the game.
