Montero tears up desert
Arizona Diamondbacks catcher Miguel Montero had 3 doubles in 4 at bats, driving in 2 runs and scoring 2 runs to lead the home team to victory over the visiting New York Mets. Met fans in need of a stiff drink need to enlist a designated driver and hop into their Mitsubishi Montero and head out to Montero’s Bar & Grill.

3 doubles straight up please
If you can’t find a Mitsubishi Montero an appropriate substitute to get you to Montero’s Bar & Grill is a Mercury Montego. Even a Chevy Monte Carlo is OK. Any car will do really, just make sure to get that drink.

Not even 3 garages are good enough for this Monte Carlo
The Diamondbacks took the early lead in the 2nd inning on a (surprise) RBI double by Montero which plated Mark Reynolds. Montero and Augie Ojeda scored on a low line drive to centerfield by Arizona starting pitcher Doug Davis which was misplayed by Angel Pagan into a 2-run double giving the D’Backs the 3-0 lead.

In the bottom of the 3rd Chad Tracy singled in (guess who) Montero and Arizona was up 4-0. The Mets got 2 back in the top of the 4th when a Fernando Tatis triple scored Luis Castillo and David Wright. In the 5th Tracy drove in Reynolds and it was 5-2 Arizona. In the 7th rookie Trent Oeltjen hit his 3rd homer, a solo shot, and Montero wrapped up his desert storm with an RBI double to make it 7-2 D’Backs.

Be sure to rent a Montero or Montego when in Jamaica
The Mets made the final score look a little better in the paper tomorrow in the 9th when Anderson Hernandez doubled in Daniel Murphy and then scored on a single by Pagan to bring about the final score of 7-4.

Only two words necessary for this one: Who cares?

Some Mets fans might get upset with what I am about to propose (no I am not suggesting the team move to Vegas although the thought did cross my mind) but if Pelfrey does not develop a satisfactory off-speed pitch to go with his fastball then they should consider moving him to the bullpen. The downward movement on his fastball along with a mid to upper 90’s four-seamer he would probably have could make him a major asset out of the pen.

Why do we always seem to have these starting pitchers who have good stuff but can’t seem to get batters out?
Another question: there has to be a better option that Dessens we can bring up. I thought that was kind of like conceeding the ballgame last night. Nothing against him as a person but he’s done. If he’s got the 10 days in the ML he needed for a pension then please, send him back down.
