Feel better buddy
David Lennon of newsday reported on his twitter that David Wright has been discharged from the hospital. Wright’s been diagnosed with “post-concussion symptoms” and the Mets have no timetable for a return.
“Post-concussion symptoms” does not necessarily mean that Wright has “post-concussion syndrome”, or PCS. A diagnosis of PCS can be made anywhere from a week to three months after experience post-concussion symptoms. PCS can last anywhere from weeks to months, but (with the proper treatment *cough* Church *cough) the symptoms should decrease over time. (wikipedia)

Well, is there any doubt that he’ll be out for the rest of the season? I sure hope he is. What is there to play through PCS for at this point?

Once again the Mets do this weird dance with the disabled list. With the team clearly out of post season contention in the opinion of anyone who isn’t in their front office (or possibly locker room as well) there seems to be no good reason NOT to DL him. So today they play with an already talent depleted roster now depleted in number too to 23.
I’m not yet in “shut him down for the season” mindset as I see an all-caps headline from Mets Grrl is suggesting, and yes I’m not a doctor, but a 2 week “vacation” on the DL and then a re-evaluation seems perfectly sensible.

Well Omar is on TV right now announcing Wright going on the DL. So I’m happy to be wrong about that.

Wright, get better soon buddy.
That said, if this tragic event was to happen, you almost wise it would have happened a week or 2 before the trade deadline. We all knew the season was over, but maybe this would have opened up managements eyes.
When Neise got hurt, didn’t Wright almost get clocked in the head as well?
