Mike Pelfrey
First up is Mike Pelfrey. I know your scratching your head as to why he deserves a MUA. Pelf went 7.1 innings of 2 run ball. Pelfrey allowed two runs and five hits over 7 1-3 innings, striking out eight in another strong start against the Giants. Pelf has allowed only four runs in three tries against them covering 20 1-3 innings, but has just one win. I know he left with the game tied and gave up his shot for a win but that was a quality outing. Well done Pelf.

Luis Castillo
Next up is Luis Castillo. Luis gets his MUA by finally getting of the HR schnied and hitting a 2 run home run to the second deck. Castillo connected with two outs in the fifth inning off Jonathan Sanchez for his first homer since May 30, 2008, at Shea Stadium. At the time it gave the Mets the lead. Great job luis…keep up your Renaissance season.

Daniel Murphy
Last up is Daniel Murphy. Heres the scene…Francoeur opened the ninth with a single off Sergio Romo deep into the hole at shortstop, hustling down the line to beat the throw to first. Fernando Tatis followed with a perfect sacrifice, and Murphy roped a clean single off Jeremy Affeldt to right field to win the game. Great walk-off Murph
Honorable Mentions:
Brian Stokes, Pedro Feliciano and Fransisco Rodriguez for throwing scoreless innings to give the Mets a shot to win in the 9th
Jeff Francoeur for his speed in the 9th and going 2-4
