Tatis Prays to the Baseball Gods For a Trade to Texas
So you thought no more trades could be discussed this season? Now it appears the Rangers may have their sights on Tatis to fill in at 3B for a few weeks. He would not be playoff eligible and I do not know if he would remain a Type B in the AL. Thus we would get mostly squat. However, squat is more than he will provide us next year. Stay tuned.

After reading the comments from the story it appears it may be bogus. The Texas fans have better suggestions than the writer.
However, if it were true (Wanny) that player could be a PTBNL and the deal could be expanded to next us Salty next year. Of course we would have to send much more than Tatis but it would save us a prospect in a deal for Salty if you get where I am going.

What did Wanny do?
I think a Tatis to Texas trade would result in little more than some teenager wearing his first pair of cleats coming the Mets’ way.

but, I guess that can qualify as depth?
Plus, the Mets wil save a few $$, and Jerry will be forced to play someone else that should be playing instead of Tatis.

Free Nick Evans!!
In the meantime, if David Wright is going to receive days off, the Mets have no choice but to keep Tatis anyway. (I suppose they can call up Javier Castillo from AAA if need be)

Way to make me look bad there Wanny.
I thought you would get it based on our conversation about Salty. Again it does not get you Salty but it is possible that it lessens the amount of prospects we have to send to get him?

If they will take Schnieder too I will personally drive them to texas, or whereever the Rangers happen to be playing!
Frankly, the best reason to give them up (other than saving some cash) is it takes away the option for Omar to offer arbitration, and get stuck taking them back!

Sounds like speculation on who is available right now to compensate for their injured 3rd base guy – not so much that GMs even discussed this.
I know he’s been basically horrible all year – except for the past couple of weeks, but the ‘emotional’ side of me is always going to like Tatis. It was a feel good story to begin with, making his way back, he really helped us out last year – comeback player of the year – and with all that went on this year, Tatis was the one guy who ALWAYS gave it 100% out there, no matter what.
Kind of like how I’ll probably always feel about Endy – even though I knew he was expendable.

I will get rocked on this one but I think we should offer him arbitration. Worst case is we have to pay him his 1.5M or so and then if he is not playing well in ST release him for no more than what he earned in ST. Best case, he goes somewhere seeking playing time and more money and we get a pick.
