This Day In Mets Infamy With Rusty 09-13-09

After seeing yesterday afternoon’s dramatic win, all I could say is WOW !! But what I was thinking about going into the bottom of the ninth was ” Okay how are we going to screw this up ?!? ( aah to be a down trodden Mets fan ) Anyway call me crazy but I am looking forward to see Tobi Stoner (heh heh stoner :P ) pitch ( he is supposed to piggy back John Maine in what I hope will be his triumphant return to the mound since mid – June.)
Anyway on with the infamy !
Happy Birthday to the pitcher who we sent to the Houston Astros for one of the best catchers in Mets history ( Jerry Grote) -Tom Parsons (1939)
Also another year older is outfielder Rodney McCray (1963) , Rodney played briefly for us during the (thankfully) forgotten ’92 season.
One time pitching prospect , and last seen with the Pittsburgh Pirates- Grant Roberts turns 32 today (1977)

New York Mets sold Chuck ” Converse” Taylor to the Milwaukee Brewers on September 13, 1972.

Cincinnati Reds claimed pitcher, Pedro ” Not that Pedro” Martinez of the New York Mets on waivers on September 13, 1996.
And lastly I would like to congratulate both Carlos Beltran and David Wright for their first home runs in ages. David – its great to see youwith double digit homeruns !!
