The Real Dirty Mets To Have September Call-ups!

Just as there are a few new faces on the Mets, although not enough, TRDMB will also be calling up some  fresh new talent.  Starting next week you will be introduced to five new authors as they each will publish their first opinion piece for TRDMB.  Dirty and I are very excited about this new group and look forward to seeing what they can do.  Please welcome them aboard but don’t go easy on them, it’s not TRDMB way.

New authors:

Metro, GonzoWill, MikeMattone, MrBaby and Halfmanhalfamazin

As always if you have comments or suggestions you can email them to me here or throw them in the comment section because you know I will be there trying to keep my dominant lead in most comments posted.  Also, if you ever get the urge to write your own opinion piece just send it in.  Remember this site is as much our readers as it is ours.  We are very thankful for how loyal our readers have been and look forward to TRDMB continuing to grow.

Also, I think it’s appropriate that TRDMB gives thanks to Matt Cerrone over at Metsblog for posting the link to our request for authors.  Because of that we had over 30 people apply for the positions.

Saw this quite shocking stat over at MCblog. Murphy supplies as much power as Wright.
As much a statement about David’s season than anything else…

    Murphy 34 doubles 3 triples 10 HR
    Wright 33 doubles 3 triples 10 HR

Murphy has 55 less plate appearances

I really think that only reflects on Wright’s season. Murphy’s doing about what we expected power-wise, but Wright is way behind his expectations.

I can’t say I expected Murphy to hit close to 40 doubles and have 50 extra base hits.

Well triples are very hard to predict for most players, but the 10 HR sounds about right. I would’ve guessed he’d finish this year with ~12 homers.

Considering he only hit 13 in the minors last year and only had 26 HR in over 1000 PA for his career in the minors I had no such hopes.

He’s at the right age to start developing whatever power he’ll end up with though. It usually doesn’t happen until the mid 20s.

Prepare to be brutalized! I will be merciless!

Ouch if that isn’t a slap in the face saying “Hello, McFly” I don’t know what is. Our Capt has produced enough power to match the new kid on the block D-Murph. TRS said it best

Actually I did not say it. Razor Shines over at MCBlog did but he is right.

  4. Mr North Jersey

I dont know I find it interesting the names they have chosen.
Metro – A seasoned NYC Commuter probably from Brooklyn.
GonzoWill – possibly a comedian maybe doesn’t take things too seriously. The life of da party.
MikeMattone – part of the Hip Hop graffiti scene or at least once was having the one in his name.
MrBaby – hmm is either the darling of all women or is a stay at home dad raising child.
HalfmanHalfamazin – def part of an older generation around Metsfan4decades crowd saw Gil Hodges manage the Mets most likely. Knows what it means to be the lovable losers.

Hmm just a guess. Oh and this weeks pick 3 numbers are 0-6-9.

welcome to the not-so-secret writin crew. Is there a name for the group? Should the old-timers be worried about playing time?

j/k welcome and I look forward to some thoughtful discussions

How about Generation K? Uh well scratch that.

Don’t worry. They shall be ripped, torn, shredded and left weeping in the corner, begging for their mommies.

And that’s if they are halfway good.

Can’t wait. Sounds like I’ll have lots of interesting reading even though we’re heading into the off season.
