Real Dirty Mets Morning Open Thread

I feel greatly honored to have a ballpark named after me, especially since I’ve been thrown out of so many. Casey Stengel

Watched the game last night, as usual. I know this team is bad but hey, it’s Met baseball.
Double digits for men left on base for the Mets.
And here’s hoping someone can help Pelf figure out in the off season why he seems to have such a problem pitching once he puts men on base.

Wasn’t all bad last night b/c I caught the tail end of the Marlin/Philly game and got to watch Lidge blow yet another save and the game in the 9th. Phils fans are on the ledge. Some commenting it’s bad karma coming back to haunt them from spending so much time last year making fun of our BP.

Good luck in the playoffs boys, ’cause you’re going to need it. They have no BP right now with 4 out with injury and Lidge and Madson not able to save the games in the 9th. They’re so desperate, or should I say clueless, that many are suggesting Pedro be given the role as closer. Pedro? Really? No way Pedro can pitch presumably every other day or multiple days in a row, and getting ready on short notice.
    Round one – elimination…..

Years of watching really bad seasons has me used to it…

I thought Pelfrey actually looked better. 6 innings and 3 ER is not great but it’s a step.

Yes, I agree. He seemed to get better after giving up those runs early.

Yep, have been so damn busy this summer, I am going Sat the 3rd for my one and only game this year…looking very forward to seeing the stadium, and please tell me that people are overstating the lack of Met history all over the place?

Unlike Vince Coleman, I have no problem with Jackie Robinson and think he is a great man, but I better see pictures of Seaver and Davey and some 69 and 86 guys (and maybe even Kingman) or I will have a damn profane Sunday Opinion stadium review!
