In a post over at The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Columnist Don Walker wrote that Brewers owner Mark Attanasio believes that Prince Fielder is at his highest trade-market value right now, he goes on to say that the rotund offspring of Cecil Fielder is due to receive $10.5MM on the back end of a two-year $18MM agreement and his current stats to date are .297/.406/.596 with 43 HRs. With number like that he is an instant threat in any lineup
Don Walker goes on to say that while Attanasio says that he doesn’t like envisioning the Brewers without Fielder, he also acknowledged that one player’s strong performance doesn’t automatically translate into wins.
Okayyyy now I say that if Fielder is made available Omar or whoever is the G.Mshould go full bore after him – problem is do we have enough ” talent” to pry him away from the Brew Crew ?

If King Felix and King Pujols were to both play for the Mets, who would be the King of Queens?

Of course I did!
And unless we can get Prince, I am very happy to have the Magic Tones patrolling first…I really think he can develop a lot more as a hitter.
After all, he played just 95 games in AA ball and one game in AAA, and look at how he has come on lately.

However, I would rather have Matt Guitar Murphy, Blue Lou, or even Aretha Franklin in the rotation rather than Figgy….

O.K., I’m confused. Per MLBTR:
Chris Carter Designated For Assignment
By Luke Adams [September 28, 2009 at 6:03pm CST]
The Boston Red Sox have designated Chris Carter for assignment, according to a press release. The 27-year-old outfielder played in 13 games for the Red Sox in 2008 and 2009, and was hitless in five plate appearances this season. The New York Yankees claimed him off waivers a month ago in an attempt to complicate Boston’s roster moves.

Isn’t he obligated as a NY Met in that ‘player to be named later’ involved in the Wagner trade?
Obviously, I don’t get the rules on this one….

i just wrote a story on it – i dont have a clue how this works except he either goes to the mets as soon as he clears waivers or he is our property after the season ends

yes, basically Boston was trying to make room for another guy. They were hoping he wouldn’t get picked up by anyone so they could trade him to the Mets.
So, it seems they are trying to do it again.

prince would be nice in the middle of the order.
But for some reason, I thought he was under team control (although expensive) through 2011?
If he really is a 1 year guy, and not cheap (in overall terms, not relative to his output), how is he worth absolute top package to get?
IMO, if yo uconsider him and A Gon to be equivalent players (not saying they are, but not for me to judge!), AG would be worth a ton more since he is 10mill for 2 years, not 1!
I don’t think the brew crew wil get overwhelmed enough to trade him, but who knows these days, if they already have decided they can’t resign him, they may be able to get more than the 2 draft picks after he declines arb.

Fielder is two years younger, and his splits are pretty even…just checked out AGonz’s splits, and he is pretty awful at home, other than walks…seriously….gotta think about that considering Citi.
Check out his splits in 2009—he is the reverse Dante Bichette!
