Very cool. I’d trade the farm for Mauer. He’d make Ollie look like Johan. The guy is having the best season EVER for a Catcher. I really hope Minny puts him on the block.

But would Minny accept another plate of trash as they did for Johan?

yes, but dirty had mentioned it back in August, so I was expanding on his post (unconsciously)
it’ll be much harder to get Mauer because there’ll be more teams involved and Mauer is the face of the franchise right now and has said Money isn’t everything.
So IF:
1. Minny can’t extend Mauer (some say they can’t),
2. decides to trade him now instead of mid-season or letting him go FA (they’ll get more back if they trade him now),
3. Omar can put the best offer (who knows), and
4. Minny hold any grudges from the Santana deal (why should they?)
It’s a done deal!
I don’t think they’ll want F-mart cuz they have plenty of OFers. They’d prob want Thole, Holt, maybe Parnell and high upside infield prospect (Havens/Tejada/Flores).

Mauer is the best player in baseball. That’s what WINNING, MVP-type ballplayers do to help their team win games. Only thing that sucks about Mauer is… he’s not playing in the NL somewhere. I’d love to see this guy 6-18 times a year against the Phillies (or on the Phillies)
