Hey there might be two more games against the Huston Astros until the 2009 Mets season is sent to the coroners office for autopsy, But it was nice to see with John Maine pitching a solid game and Daniel Murphy’s moon shot last night that there is at least some warmth left to this corpse! Starting pitcher from the putrid ’75 team Randy “Polanski” Tate is 57 (1952) It is funny , I noticed that even though both pitchers had horrible won/ loss records , their E.R.A.S were only in the mid threes. I guess it proved there were a hell of a lot of low scoring games back then.

Shot for 70 baby. Just sounds so much better than something in the 60s, like there is hope.
ANd for all the draftniks out there, they are currently in 6th place for the draft. Could drop to 7th, depending on what Arizona does. So keep an eye on that race.
