Earlier on Mlb.com , writer Scott Merkin reported that Chicago White Sox outfielder , Scott Podsednik wants to return to the White Sox next – but will test the the free agent market. This past season his stats are as follows .306/.355/.415 in 583 plate appearances. Podsednik
How much would you fork over to sign Podsednik? Can he be our left fielder next year? Perhaps – but I think only if we consider him a one year rental until we can evaluate Fernando Martinez in a full season at triple A ball. – Hey there is always Manny Ramirez ( like the Mets will learn from that mistake lol)

The problem with Podsednik is he’s got very little power. If they’re going with Murph at first, and we acquire a LF with no power, then I would think the game plan needs to change to win. We’ll have to have top notch pitching to keep the opposition off the board and we’ll need to have speed, coupled with guys who can hit well to the gaps. Because it’s going to then take 2-3 hits to get runs in….
Not saying it can’t be done but you gotta love those 2 and 3 run homers with one swing of the bat…

Posednik NOT what we need. Most likely on a good year we have guys already in the system that can put up that OPS. .770 for LF is NOT going to get it done unless Prince Fielder is coming to NY.
