Mejia, Davis, Nieuwenhuis Make BA’s Top 20 FSL

As reported on Mets Minor League Blog: BA FSL Top 20: Mejia, Davis & Nieuwenhuis

Baseball America has announced that Mejia (#7), Davis (#9) and Nieuwenhuis (#14) are part of their top 20 prospects for the Florida State League.  Holt missed qualifying due to innings and Havens was right out side the top 20 at 21 .

In his report Toby Hyde reviews what the scouts at BA have to say about each as well as adding his own expertise.  It’s a great read on 3 players that could be on the fast track to the majors.

I think that is the definition of “majestic follow-through” in that pic.

Just curious, what is Hyde’s “expertise?”

The fact that he runs a Mets Minor League Blog? LOL. Let me rephrase that to he knows more about the minor league system than I do making him an expert. LOL.

Can we argue about everything. LOL.

Wasn’t arguing, I was really curious.

I read his blog from time to time and the best I could tell was that he was a minor league broadcaster for a short time.

To me considering how little MOST of us on here know about the MILB system, he qualifies as an expert.
Cerrone does not because I think WE all know more about it.

          Does that seem fair?

By the way, it was Havens who was just oustide the top 20 (21) and Holt didn’t have the innings to qualify.

Yup, you are right. Poor reading skills. Let me fix this.

Who the hell is Haves? Unacceptable. I think it’s time to hire a proof-reader.

LOL, I must have set my damn standards too high because you guys have been busting my ass all day.

You’re lucky we’re not giving out grades.

I wonder if Havens will get some starts at C, since the reports I on Toby’s article are he has poor range for a SS and poor footwork for 2B.

I don’t think they really plan to move him to C, or they would have started by now.

these reports often contradict each other. I have seen in the past that he wasnt bad. Give him the shot at 2B and see what happens.
