After watching some of these games (I actually have enjoyed it, in a perverse way), I realized that the Mets don’t need to move in or lower the fences. Other teams (like say, the yankees and Phils) need to move out or raise theirs!

There have been some very cheesey home runs hit. A Rod, Matsui, one of werths.

When you see guys totally fooled, taking akward opps swings off their front foot, and hitting little pop ups that go out, that is just wrong.

Oh, the enjoyment? That comes from whenever anyone on either team does bad or screw up. Utley and Howard as K machines? Love it. A Rod wiffing like DW? Love it. Vicky falling on his face? Fantastic. And the errors make me smile, as does a BP spitting th ebit.

Best so far has to be Hamels melting down. Forget about Pelfrey, look at how much of a regression this guy had.

and don’t tell me the mets rotation cant compete when 2-5 the Phils have Pedro, Hamels, Blanton and happ.

I’ve watched every post game series and the WS so far and I’m not surprised. I said all along both teams have great defense, but I gave the edge to Yankess 1-3 SP and their BP. Phillies have no BP in my estimation and outside of Lee – and maybe ‘big game’ Pedro, they’ve got nothing.
Hamels was an under .500 pitcher this year and has looked horrible in post season so far. Don’t know how he got away with it last year, but I don’t see any SP having a successful career with two pitches…

Oh, and the Phillies have no offensive bat on their bench. Zip, noda, zero.
      Advantage Yankees their too.

I wonder if Lee takes the option year with the Phils. Otherwise, their starting rotation will be in a world of hurt.

I’ve been saying since the beginning of 2008 I thought Pelfry will turn out to be the better pitcher between him and Hamels. Time will tell, I guess….

Lee has a team option. No chance the Phils don’t pick it up.

If it were a player option, then Lee for sure would decline it, and double his salary elsewhere.

          Ah…my mistake. Thanks.
