Congratulations to the creators and authors of this blog. I consider myself very lucky indeed I happened to be reading ‘that other blog’ the day I caught the link mrose threw out there for TRS, Dirty and others to get this started. (At least I think it was mrose who had the website he generously offered to get NLEastChatter started.)

I love the content, the humor, the opinions, the debates – all of it. I especially love the fact that I can read, on any given day, very intelligent and factual posts and the ensuing debate they sometimes generate. All without someone calling someone else a moron or telling them to go back to the rock they crawled from under or asking if they ever get out of their mother’s basement.

Between the links and Widget I can pretty much always come here first to see what’s new and go from there.

Hope you’re bringing back the Dirty Dugout for next season.

    2010, here we come.

This WS is actually much more fun than I expected. Normally with the mets not in it, I dont care what happens. But this year, I get the enjoyment of seeing at least 1 team I hate get smacke around.

for instance, it was extremely satisfying to see A Rod with a .071 BA and tons of Ks (and that HR was only out of a tiny park).

And just now, seeing the look on Jobas fat face when he got jacked was priceless. maybe mom can wire him up?

And we have a real good chance of seeing one teams closer spit the bit. Always a good time(when he isnt wearing a met uniform).

And on cue, Lidge is in!

    1. stickguy

and, a perfect example. yeah, it sucked to see A Roid get the big hit, but it was fantastic to watch lidge stick a dagger into the fans (99% of whom probably expected it to happen. sound familiar, met fans?). Quite possibly took them right out of the series.

but again, if the Phils come back and take the last 3, it means the yankees pulled another epic PS collapse.

you almost cant lose, once you realize that one of these teams was going to get the trophy, like it or not.

    Brad Lidge, my hero.

Apparently it takes less than a Pujols moon-shot HR to destroy Lidge.

And it’s about time someone took advantage of that ridiculous over-shift defense.

Hopefully, after tonight, we won’t have to hear that ‘WFC’ going into 2010.

LOL – Oh, the whining going on across my Phillie fan friends/family. –And I’m assure across all Phillie phandom.

How well we Met fans know the importance of a closer who can actually shut the door.
To me, the only good thing that could come from the Phillies winning it all is maybe their FO would stay complacent and not do anything about their lack of pitching. Better for us next year….

    Frenchy,Pagan&Maine for
    DeJesus,Teahan&Meche???

    1. trs86

Hmmm…. I like Frenchy’s potenial more than DeJesus or Teahen. Meche would be a good pickup.
How about the same but sliding in a prospect instead of Frenchy? In your proposal we would still need an OF and have less power.

      1. fongy2

        Someone actually gave
        me that one. Hes a
        Royal and Chief fan
        (now THATS loyalty).
        Based on the fact that
the Royals FO was very hot for Frenchy for almost 2 yrs, apparently
        offering Greinke(before
        he became Greinke)straight up.
I thought it over and figure we pick up almost 10mil in salaries. But it does make some sense.
I think we’d still be able to get a front line starter and another bat for RF.

        1. trs86

I guess but I would assume that we either need to get more out of the trade if we include Frenchy or replace him with a prospect. I am not sure switching from Frenchy to DeJesus helps that much. Also a guy like Teahen and Meche can be found on the FA market for similar to what they are getting paid or less.
