We might not have much to discuss until the real Hot Stove starts but we certainly have the best graphics on these posts.

wow, the ultimate clutch, never made an out, better than God, most awesomest baseball player ever hit into a weak Tatis at a key spot in the WS.
shocking. All of my faith in life has been upended.

The Series is headed back to NY! I wonder what the Phils will do with the closer’s position in 2010.

loved it that the guy up in the pen when Madson looked like he was going to spit the bit was Myers.
with his contract, lidge is going to be in the pen. who knows, maybe he will be demoted into a very expensive set up guy?

But then who closes? Manuel’s tried everyone in the BP seemingly, and everyone has failed. I wonder if they’d consider signing a new closer. If the Phils don’t win the series, the fanbase could call for it.

it will be lidge. Only other option I see is they resign Myers and give him the job back.
madson has the stuff, but hasn’t seemed to handle the job too well when given the role.

I agree that it’ll be Lidge to start the season, but I see no way that they let him ride out a terrible season like they did in ’09. If he blows a couple saves early in the season, things could get very interesting.

like I said, every game is a lose-win.
you get the ugliness of the phils BP surviving, and seeing happy philly fans.
But, you get the joy of seeing mr. 180mill looking like DW flailing at a ball at his shoe tops for the last out.
now they go to NY, so we still have the chance to the yankees pull a 2004 level foldo on the big stage.
and while it would suck to see the phils win it, it will be fantastic to see the obnoxious yanker fans have to sit through it for the 2nd time.

Which is why the series is either a win-win or lose-lose scenario, depending on whether you’re a “glass half full” or “glass half empty” person.

Haha, can’t argue with that!

intersting subplot (another thing about watching a series where you dont have a rooting interesting, you canfocus on the “little” things).
If the yanks lose, will Girardi survive? he took a major risk, going with the short rotation, especially with a 3-1 lead, and going back to NY.
He could have stuck in the 4th guy (gaudin?) for game 4 or 5, then had either CC, petite and burnett on normal rest, or at least AJ and petite.
but, unless he wants to go gaudin petite, he has himself boxed into Petite on short rest (scary), with all the marbles in game 7 resting on CC on 3 days for the 3rd time, and he hasnt looked good yet this series.
Although on the flip side, we get to see Pedro without an extra week off!

The Great Pedro has a chance to be a Yankee Spoiler.
You can’t make this up.
