Cubs Dump Bradley for Silva

So it appears that the Cubs have finally dumped Bradley.  This story from MLBTR: Cubs & Mariners Will Swap Bradley & Silva

More importantly to me is that this could take the M’s out of the discussion for Jason Bay.  If that happens I expect to see Bay move quickly to accept his first choice from current offers.

But what about “the mystery team?”

I’m trying to figure what Bay’s options are realistically. I guess it has to be

    Mets
Angels (but I only see that if they trade Juan Rivera for a SP)
Braves (but not if they trade for Rivera)
    ???

I think the mystery team might
      be The Nippon Ham Fighters!

Why are the people of Nippon so angry at Ham?

Interesting. Wonder if the Rays and Braves could swap Pat for Lowe. Rays prob. wouldn’t want Lowe’s huge contract.

So, Bay has to be a sure fit w/ the Mets unless the Angels really want him, doubt it.

What 3rd team can the Mets get involved to bring Lowe from the Braves?

I seriously am trying to figure out who is even a remotely possible suitor for Bay and Holliday other than the Mets and the Cards. No one at MLBTR in the recent Bay thread seems to think there are any (at least so far, it’s a new thread).

    TRS,

Have you seen this Tedquarters post? It reads like our conversation about Fernando Tatis yesterday (not that I’m suggesting Ted reads our blog and found it inspirational).

It’s about time the Cubs dumped him. Now Seattle is out of the picture for Jason Bay AND thier locker room is gonna deteriorate with Bradley in there.

    It’s a win for everyone!

    /sarcasm

I know you labeled it sarcasm but I’m going to jump in here anyway cuz this is kind of relevant. Seattle has a clubhouse filled with guys who are stable, decent and well respected led by Ken Griffey Jr. They should have a good chance anyway to keep him in line, if for no other reason they have the grizzled respected veteran (and perhaps worth mentioning fellow African-American) in Griffey.

African-American being relevant or not, who on the Mets was Bradley going to respect, who here would keep him in line? Here it would’ve been the disaster you sarcastically refer to, there I’m not so sure it will be.

Well I was just saying that Bradley’s tirades and arguments with Lou Piniella gave him a bad rep as a player with a lot of baggage (also the fact that he’s been on more teams in his career than I can count with one hand).

And I was being sarcastic considering the fact that Seattle has a stable locker room with strong management and a no nonsense manager. Lol

Absolutely. I am most certainly not accusing you of anything negative, you have no need to defend your comment to me. I found your comment humorous even without you taking the care to add the “sarcasm” below which I appreciate since sometimes it is hard to tell in the written word.

I just “replied” to you because your comment led to me thinking about how he would probably fit in Seattle and how he probably wouldn’t fit here.

Thank you for making me think, and if we haven’t said this before, welcome to TRDMB.

            Lol you’ve said it before
