Carlos Delgado has came out swinging in his first 3 winter league games. Showing little rust he is hitting .364 with 1 HR, .417 OBP. The Mets as we know are rumored to be very interested. Careful Omar. I like the idea of bringing him back but make sure it’s on your terms and not at the cost of another needed upgrade.

1 year….sign me up. Done deal. Gotta like that line-up…now lets get an actual starting pitcher on this team.

As usual for me, depends on his cost. If he’s looking for 4+MM guaranteed, forget it.

Agreed. I’d like him to be on the team, but as money smartly spent. 3 or 4 mil + incentives would be my guess what he would be offered and 6 mil + incentives is what I think he’ll want to get. Hopefully Omar takes a hardline stance with him as he has done with Molina. Anything more than 3 Mil + incentives in my mind is not spending wisely.

I’ll take an inexpensive, one year deal flyer on Delgado. Best case scenario is he’s got something left in that bat and we’ve got one heck of a formidable lineup when he’s in it.
Worst case scenario is he gets hurt – again – and we’ve got Murph.
If signing Delgado though, I would not even consider Murph in a trade for this upcoming year….

if he can still field, one year deal is ok with me. Start with 4/5 guarenteed and add incentives. Murph can benefit from taking more instruction with a true 1b man.

We’ve been down this road before with injured players only looking at there upside and forgeting about there downside time to pass on Delgado at any price he has plenty of thump still I bet but let him thump in the AL no more Delgado please
