Not a lot of Mets news flowing today
It’s a light day in tiny Mets news so I’m digging deep in the scrap heap:
- It’s not bad enough simply being a fan of a team that shares a city with the Yankees, now I learn that the Yankees had 3 of the top 4 arms belonging to minor league right fielders in their system in 2009. But take heart Mets fans, one of them is 34, the other is 27 and hasn’t made it past Double A yet, and the third can’t hit a lick.
- In fantasy baseball terms, Eno Sarris of FanGraphs considers Johan Santana to be this year’s Chris Carpenter, whatever that means. Last year I drafted Chris Carpenter so I should know what that means. Call me crazy but I don’t think Santana will still be there in the 19th round this year, no offense Mr. Sarris.

I would have thought we would have seen the obligatory “Mets are getting even closer to signing Molina” some where today. So close, yet so far away…

Let the Yankees keep those guys, at least we’ll always have Alex Ochoa.

Regarding Chris Carpenter and your draft, nice job! I won the “2009 Battle of the Mets Blogs” Fantasy League. I beat Sam Page of Amazin Avenue in our World Series after going wire to wire in my division. I selected 11th in the draft and I figured I was screwed but my latter round selections won it for me. Thank you Ben Zobrist, Jose Lopez and Aaron Hill!
Maybe next season someone can represent your blog? We’d love to have you.
