To the certain chagrin of his legions of awestruck followers among Met fans, the Legendary Orlando “Gritty Mc” Hudson has apparently signed with the Minnesota Twins.
We thank Tim Dierkes of MLBTR for this breaking news, as he quotes Curtis Kitchen of WHB Radio in Kansas City.
The Twins will now instantly shoot to the very top of everyone’s prognostications as AL champ; the influence Hudson exerted for the Dodgers after being benched down the stretch last year was clearly what propelled them into the playoffs.
Met fans can heave a gargantuan sigh of relief that Hudson signed with an AL team, as had the Nats grabbed him, we certainly would be looking at a fifth place finish; with Gritty out of the NL east for sure, the Mets now clearly still have a fighting chance to finish 4th.
However, we will see the Legend up close and personal for three games when the Twins visit Citi the last weekend of June. If Hudson is still starting then, it should be a pleasure to see this clubhouse giant, this postseason king, this grit magnet, this first-ballot Hall of Famer who has triggered two of the biggest free agent bidding wars in baseball history the last two years, racing around the field in his inimitable way.

I sense a touch of sarcasm here.
Seriously, though, I would love for Omar to bring in a capable backup for Reyes and Castillo, someone who can play the entire season if one of them goes down.
Cora would be that guy now, w/ fan favorite Tatis as the second option.
I doubt Ruben Tejada at 20 can be that guy.
If Omar is able to pull a trade, Mike Aviles or Alberto Callaspo of the Royals might get moved, though Aviles is coming back from surgery.

If the FO would have not signed Cora, not traded for Gary Matthews Jr. and not signed Irigashi, they could have used that money to sign O-Dog.
Very good use of the revenues!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I guess, if you are making Castillo a bench player. But who backs up Reyes, is our 5th OFer, and potential SU guy?

Ugh.
We HAVE a second baseman, Wonder Boy. And O-Dog is perhaps the most overhyped and overrated player in human history.
We need a 4th OF with experience. Any ideas?
Have you watched Igarashi pitch? Didn’t think so.
But still Roy, excellent work there, slightly changing what has been written elsewhere today, almost verbatim. Really, nice work.
And nice use of punctuation!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

come on kingman, play nice.
Roy Hobbs is fictional, just like Royhobbs7′s knowledge of basebaal.
