I came across some old Mets (and generic Hall of Fame and Yankees) stuff this off-season. I scanned a few of my favorites to share. This is the first set. Here’s the scoreboard shot after Seaver set the NL record with seven consecutive 200 K seasons.

Here’s the front of the schedule, with the rarely seen Lady Met.
Wayne Garrett and his wife Donna scouting the competition. Apparently the Mets and Phillies used to have their wives play a couple of innings of softball occasionally. Seems like a cool idea.

This is really cool ceetar!! I didn’t even know about Lady Met…she’s foxy. If I were half baseball/half man, I’d definitely hit that.

Showing my age here, but I believe the first Mets memorabilia I obtained and still own is the NYPost paper the day the Mets traded for Piazza. The only stuff I have actually older than that are baseball cards (I do have a Seaver though!).

Ever see the funny fake ESPN ad, when Mr Met was sitting in the ESPN dining room with I think maybe Karl Ravech, and Ravech whispers to Mr Met “Have you heard about Charley Steiner and Mrs. Met??”

Not only were box seats $4.00 but the difference in the levels of seating was only 25 or 50 cents!

Wanny, I remember Donna Garrett from the 1970s yearbooks when each year they would have pictures of Met wives and kids taken on Family Day!

Ah, the memories….
I had so many baseball cards from my youth I threw out. We’re talking late 60′s/early 70s time frame so who knows what I had?
My oldest piece of memorabilia…..somewhere packed I’ve got the program from the last game of the ’73 season where they honored Willie Mays as he headed towards retirement.

Only a $1.50 difference between box seats and upper level reserved.
That’s only $17.28 for box seats and $10.80 for upper level in 2008 dollars.
