NY Met Fans Heroes: Show Your Pride

Gearing Up for the start of the season I been trying to create some fan art that you could use at work at home or wherever showing your Mets Pride. Taking a page from one of my favorite shows “Heroes” I came up with the following. I hope you enjoy and if you like it give us a shout-out here at T.R.D.M.B. we’d love to hear from you.

Download Santana: 1280×1024 | Download Wright: 1280×1024

Download Reyes: 1280×1024 | Download KRod: 1280×1024

I don’t watch or have any familiarity with the TV show but the art looks great!

Somewhere in a parallel universe someone is doing the same thing but dressing the Mets players as clowns and writing “BOZOS” across it. ;-)

      Thanks for the compliment Grave.

Tells you how much I watch TV. Didn’t even know there was a show called Heroes….

Very cool, Mr Jerz. Thanks for sharing.

Dave Lennon was on XM tonight (as a guest on home plate). Just caught part of it, but mostly talking about SP, and leadership/clubhouse (CHUG baby CHUG!)

harped a bit on how great Johan was, and how he needed to kick some arse onthe rest of the rotation. Pretty much that those guys needed to man up and get nasty.

Also about how much talent Ollie has, and whether he was ready to finally put it all together.

Just heard a small piece, but it was actually (I think) positive overall.

The refreshing flavor of some nice press.

To counterpoint your above point, Barajas has another offer at .5 mil above the Mets. Poor, poor, poor house Mets, can’t afford to go another .50000001 higher than the next guy. I jest, by the by….

ah hell. I think the Mets should just say screw it and match or beat it. Toss some more incentives too or something.

And I am not even sure I really want him that bad!

maybe it would just be nice to see the talking heads railing on Omar for overpaying for a guy for a change. I miss that.

        1. njstuckintx

I know. If there was a poll, I’m sure it would be 99% agree that they would rather him over spend then underspend.

Can we get an Ollie Perez “LOST” one?

comments are off on Kingman’s post. And is that the proper usage of “whose”? :)

hey, open up the comments on the kingman piece. I got some to add!

I’m still deciding if 2nd or 3rd is going to end up being the best spot for Reyes.

      1. stickguy

I actually wanted him moved to 2nd. I think that gives a lot of the benefits ot moving him to 3rd, without the pressure of needing to be a run producer/HR hitter, or the best hitter on the team.

I am fine with castillo/pagan/reyes/wright now, but when Beltran comes back, might push them all up 1 to castillo/reyes/wright/beltran.

And any day Pagan plays for Frenchy, you can mix it up even more.

        1. njstuckintx

Yeah, I think Reyes is best served in the 2nd spot.

          Castillo/Reyes/Wright/Bay/Murphy/Francouer/Pagan/Barajas/Pitcher or
          Pagan/Reyes/Wright/Bay/Murphy/Francouer/Barajas/Castillo/Pitcher

We can all continue the debate on the 1st vs. 8th for Castillo, but either way, those spots should serve him better than the 2 hole.

Then when Beltran comes back, like you said, wedge him into the 4 spot as such:
          Castillo/Reyes/Wright/Beltran/Bay/Murphy/FrenchFrench/Barajas/Pitcher.

looks like the Mets might be following my advice from last night. Reports are they are willing to guarantee the deal with Barajas to get him to sign.

at least it is a move. And still a minimal investment.

I get a kick out of the people that like to add up all the bench/minor signings and claim they should have spent the total on 1 better guy. Completely ignoring the fact that if you subtract Cora, Tatis, Barajas, Escobar, etc. you still have to get other players to fill those spots, and pay them a salary.

And I guarantee the same posters would be the ones to complain if Omar built a team where all the bench and pen guys were minimum wage dudes out of the minors.

    1. njstuckintx

Agreed on the Bench comment. But, it will go 2 ways with the naysayers… 1, they should have used all the money they did on the bench to upgrade one of the starters or they should have got better bench players for the money they spent. Never satisfied.

Oh, and the Mets did everything that they are “not capable” of. Upping an offer, dishing out the dollars and going after a need. He’s no Mauer, but he definitely fills a need and is an upgrade over Santos.
