Hm.
He was seriously supposed to compete for that second lefty spot. We have no outstanding LH pitching arms for the bullpen to aid Feliciano, because Takahashi is supposedly a Glavine Type.

taka, marshall, misch, and at least one of the MiL guys (that sorta closer sidarmer dude from AA maybe) were supposed to be competing I think. And I imagine a few more options might pop up in ST.
