This Saturday, March 5th, TRDMB’s own DirtySanchez and MRose will be heading down to Port St. Lucie for the day. We are both lucky enough to reside close enough to take a drive on down. Yes, the “Mets” will be on the SpaceCoast for the day, but the top players will obviously stay behind and were hoping to observe as much as we can.
Please take this post as an invite if you find yourself close enough to meet us, or post in the comments section any pictures or commentary you would prefer. If its within reason and we can do it without special access, we will do our best.
Regardless, we will post some pics and commentary from our trip sometime early next week and hopefully at least one of us will make another trip or two down before Spring Training ends. For the record, this will be my first Spring Training, and even without a game, i’m giddy!
Finally, being I haven’t posted much lately, I want to make sure everyone who reads, comments or writes for all the blogs knows how thankful I am for what the site has already become! Here’s to another great year!

Hey, obviously since it’s not a game this is what you’re doing anyway, but the workout stuff can be some of the most interesting of spring training, although since the coaches/manager goes I don’t really know how this works. You may actually get to see some interesting, casual, stuff going on. Enjoy it, I loved that stuff last year the one day i went to workouts. Listened to Razor Shines go over the signs and threaten to fine anyone that missed one. Watched a lot of interesting drills and such. Good stuff, and everyone OF/IF/P split up for different stuff. plenty to watch. You probably won’t get many autographs this way if you’re into that, because they’re actually working at this time, so not really time to just chill, but maybe since tehre is no pregame to go to, they’ll have time for that.

re: AA Annual Book, I thought MC’s chapter on blogs was pretty interesting. Don’t like the fire Omar Minaya chapter.

From what I can gather, he doesn’t really care about the comments section.

Or the fact that the NY media doesn’t take blogs as seriously as he thinks they ought to.

Mets can distinguish themselves by having a social media dept that takes blogs, etc. more seriously as a way of creating a greater community with the fans
